God knows that was my highest qualification o_O

My favorite IMM when I was a mortal was, by far, Dalamar (Achernar v1). I hated Nashira.

When I became an IMM, I developed instant respect for everyone. Even Dulrik, because he just has a tendency to say the right thing at the right time. I still hated Nashira though. Time has passed, though. I have to give props to Ain v2, even if he is a n00b, because he rekindled an excitement in me for all things building and such. But Nashira is still a punkass.

Why did you choose this Immortal as your favorite?

You just self-destructed the entire Chem for Imm movement. Good job, bastard. Sarcastic jackass was your strongest selling point!

Just because I am one, doesn't mean I have to like others that are the same. And you're just jealous I picked Bugtussle over you, you're in 2nd if that puts your mind in ease. Aludra (Nashira) would have been 2nd, but like, no one likes a nerfer. *smirks*

My favorite.. No surprise..

Nashira. Aside from knowing him IRL, I had a great time fixing the Druids which were about to get disbanded completely. I also had the fun of setting up the Faith of Nashira with Chem, Mystra and Moira at the time. That was the best time I have ever had.

Even if he is now the God of Love.. *snickers* Nashira rocks.

Although I have to give props to AIN during that time. He always took the time to help out those in that area with coding and helping work out RP events.

No other IMMs like to respond to anything I do anyways. :P

My two favorates were Wert and Bill.

They seem to be the only two who'll do any interaction with me, or help me get the few projects done that I wanted to do. I've found I agreed with alot of Wert's veiwpoints from these forums, and I really enjoyed the web sites he used to post. And old Sargas was great for the occasional interaction in the game, as well as wonderful buildings.

Wert first became one of my favorites when he began the Leviathan RP. There were alot of interesting puzzles down in the gnome city to solve, and they were great fun. Sargas became one of my favorites when he spoke to my character after Valkora's demise. I remember actually shaking and thinking I was in trouble, it being my first IMM interaction.

One thing I’ve noticed about the way players feel about imms…

Players will remember things imms did for them, the player, individually, much more than what the imm did for the mud in general.

Fer instance, take one of my faves, Reina. Reina did a hella lot for the mud. He built some of the *best* areas this mud will ever see.

But Reina wasn’t too personable. Reina didn’t talk to players or do favors very often. In fact, he is remembered as more of an enforcer than anything else. So, Reina is not only not loved, but still resented in some circles—despite his being one of the most hard-working, inventive imms SK will ever see. Or Dulrik—Dulrik is respected but not loved, because he rarely interacts directly with players.

Now take another fave imm of mine, Bugtussle/Meissa. Bug would talk to players. Did you know that he would go through bug/typo logs, fix them, and then tell the player that they were noted and fixed? Hell, I’d fix them, but I’d never tell a player I did so. Bug would interact with players, Bug would do things for players—Bug is therefore well-liked and remembered.

My point is that we remember stuff done with us or specifically for us favorably, but tend to not appreciate stuff done for the mud in general. And we definitely don’t tend to think fondly of those who crack down on us for stuff they think we’ve done wrong.

Is that bad or good? *shrug* Dunno. Just commenting that that is the way things are.

My favorites? I feel about the immstaff since the year 2000 the way I do about the individual Beatles—I love them all. I have no favorites.

Three current imms that I think are underappreciated are Jinnahra/Algorab, Dulrik, and Sargas/Alshain. Jinn is really the linchpin on the staff that keeps everything running, D is the Creator, and Bill simply wrote the best descriptions (NPC, room, area, whatever) this mud has ever seen.

I think you are right. I am going to remember the ones that interacted with me. Unlike being an IMM I am not going to always know what you are doing behind the scenes. You say that Reina did a ton of areas and such. I have no idea which ones he/she did and which ones where done by others (excluding some areas). Therefore I can not really gage their overall impact on the mud.

I know that Algorab/Jinn has done a ton for the mud. Dulrik is the obvious creator. However neither has really interacted with me. If you want me to vote who has done the most, it will be different from who is my favorite. It is easier to relate to someone that seems personal than to someone you just hear about.

Think of it like your favorite Uncle. It is going to be the one that took you places and all the like, rather than the one you never saw but heard he did alot for the family.

I liked Algorab v.1 the most I think, because I'm pretty sure he was the one who started the netherworld demons and the mists thing. I thought that those were good ideas cause they had alot of global RP involved with them.
I'm sure there have been other global RP things started by other imms but I can't think of any now.

Oh, and Wert for making the pilgrimage. I think the pilgrimage is a really good idea.
