Pills/potions/scrolls/wand and staves even of limited amounts do not appear to be affected by any hoarding code. Unless the builder adds a decay timer to them (which tends to only tick when in game anyway). If you want to loot the game of all the "consumables" and hoard them you are free too from all appearances of the loot code. I believe but I could be wrong they are targeted by level thieves. Im fairly sure they are not targeted by the hoarding code either logout version or the monthly reboot version.

As to if they should be Im inclined to believe that such items should be on a sliding scale. If you have one consumable you need X time/log ins If you have 2 you need 1.5X time/log in. Three 2x time etc. If you get up to 10-20 you should be being dehoarded of some (but probably not all) of these things unless you are really active. It should also only be applied to limited ones you dont want your 10 brewed weak healing pots counting against that number.

I don't think any of that is necessary. The older code was pretty good at nipping these things in the bud.

seems really strange to me that a character can play so infrequently and be so inactive during a month that they lose faction leadership flags during the monthly reboot, but yet manage to retain a full set of limited (god-like quality) armor and jewelry. can only assume faction leadership and equipment are calculated independently and with different criteria - still strange, though.

would like to see the hoarding code only count 2 hours played in any 24 hour time period. it would be helpful to also add weekly requirements, which would would roll over to the next week if they r not met but with a penalty applied. there needs to be something in place to prevent people from not playing all month and then showing up the last few days of the month - cramming hours at the very end.

the "cycle" has become both predictable and amusing (not in a good way tho). it's hilarious what happens after the monthly reset. u have a group of characters that couldn't be bothered to play the entire month that suddenly find the time and/or motivation to play. they logon, check to see what loot they lost, and then immediately run out to gather up more loot that they won't use.

then u don't see them again until last week of the month when they logon and try to make hours, so they can repeat the process all over again.

good times.

SK Character: That one guy who pk'd you.
I also recommend stronger guidelines in the dehoarding code.

Something needs to be done about the dehoarding system check when it comes to unlimited store bought items. Who cares how much store bought armor a char is carrying? I've lost unique items because I forgot to drop some pieces of iron armor. Sure, that's an easy lesson to learn and remember, but is it necessary? Just seems like the players that play MORE are subjected to the system more than the ones who play LESS.

The hoarding code should only count against limited items, non-worn items.

FYI: Dehoarding code was tweaked for this month. Limited consumables are now a bigger a target than they used to be.

epic fail

the change only targets high level consumables, so the game will still be plagued by mercenaries and barbarians carrying around a crap load of double healing potions since they are almost exclusively brewed in low level vials (like the violet vial, etc.)

Also targeted all spare armor/jewelry/container. Pretty sure none of this was mentioned in the "ways to excite you to play more" thread.

my character kept exactly two spare pieces of gear in his container - a ring and a bracelet. logged in tonight to find that in addition to most of my staves and wands being gone - also lost the bracelet.

yep totally excited to play sk now.

on the bright side - kept all 17 of the violet vial healing potions, so if ur playing a mercenary or barbarian this change isn't going to affect u at all. just what sk needed - for mercenaries and barbarians to get even stronger.
