[Dwa Mer][WAR][MDN][LGN] Chronis - Imperial Knightlord. Sargas' Cleaver

The time has finally come to close a very long and worthwhile chapter in my SK history.
I first would like to thank everyone who has taken part in the life of this character. The number of characters I need to thank is nearly endless. I thank enemies and allies alike. All of which have provided an incredible experiance for numerous months. I thank you all.

Background:
Chronis was born in The Empire and lived in the Von Eisenfaust woods. He was a lumberjack that was given the task of keeping all of the hearths in Menegroth burning hot. When I rolled him, the hammer was quite dominant. Aodh and his other lackies (cant remember their names) had all of the relics of darkness. So for Chronis' fourty-first birthday, he enlisted in kytar as a recruit.

Logic:
I had just finished my life as Arkex when I rolled him. He was supposed to be an Arkex 2.0. War/MC/Aberrant. But I listened to some advice from some vets and chose some bad specs. I went great-axe spec because of The Axe of Conquest. It always looked sexy to me when I was playing Arkex. It was then suggested to spec in throwing axes so I could sit back row and throw. Something I never was able to master. But despite the small size damage mod and the bad choice in specs, I stuck with Chronis for as long as I could. He kinda RP'd himself out based upon choices I made throughout the end.

Stats & Info:
Death arrives and escorts your soul to the spirit world.

Key events in Chronis' life:
- Boirnjolf was the one who invested Chronis into Sargas faith. This is where I wanted to go in the first place, but he rp'd well in the recruitment. It was fun joining up once again.
- I think it was Boirnjolf that also inducted Chronis into Legions. But it might have been Magua
- I believe it was Ksenia that was leading MC when I finally joined. It sucked serving under ardith. but hey, what are ya gonna do. lol
- Chronis got Knightlord after Ksenia, I'm pretty sure. - The first major war that I started was the war against Brisbald and The Guardians. This war was crucial for me in learning SK. Once I convinced Boirnjolf to unretire, we were mobilized and ready to wreck. Boirnjolf always let me lead the party even when I was unfamiliar with Sith, which was where we were hunting. This improved my PK game exponentially. Also the fact that we had an 'honorable' war made sure that we were going at it nearly every day. Loot was never taken, only consumables. So prep time was minimal and it made for a very fun war.
When Ainhoa came to The Empire for aid, she was doing very impressive work. I can't go into details. But Oarns herbs were super tasty. This helped us in the war greatly. But The Jesters followed closely behind her. Drama with Earar and Ainhoa escallated and over the past couple of months, we were in a full scale war. I tried my best. But got my [REDACTED] straight up whooped. I stated that the war with the jesters would be Chronis' last war, win or lose. However I am stubborn when it comes to losing. Some End-game-like RP occured and I knew it was my time to finally retire.

-I'll also add that I learned a handful of fairly difficult PVE. Something that I have been wanting to learn for quite some time. So I'd like to send great thanks to all of those who were willing to teach me the ways.
-Having Boirnjolf force me to lead forced me to learn how to run a couple of relic raids. Very important, I feel.

To sum it all up: Its been a hell of a ride. I've had quite a bit of fun over the past year (give or take). Please take this time to bring up old memories you might have with Chronis so I can relive them one more time.

Y'all know I'll be back. See yo mo fo's IC when I'm standing over your corpse. :drunk:

A great character imho. I enjoyed him on multiple characters seeing different sides of the story constantly. All in all, I will miss him greatly. I look forward to your next!

PS: Edit out the cabal skills bro.

Chronis and his interaction with Wiri, the first character I had that I got into at all, was pretty instrumental in me sticking with SK. He was awesome, and will be missed.

Sargas (the immortal) told Varak (and the Harlequin cabal) you were not aberrant and therefore unable to be held to your oaths. Over OOC channels.

This needs to be answered for, either the admin is incompetent and unable to handle his faith (he's not just some random follower, too, he has been HF of Sargas for a considerable time, so a 'one time mistake' isn't a plausible excuse, you need to be out to lunch for a long time not to realize this) when asked to review something by his high priest that two high followers made a binding oath to - or he's basically lying for a friend.

Either way, this needs to be addressed by Dulrik and the immortal in question owes a very public apology to the player of Varak. This is reprehensible on his part and destroys any trust that people can place in this immortal to actually review the situations from an informed and objective viewpoint.

You and Boirnjolf quite literally drove a cabal and tribunal into the ground, have been without a relic for months, and have died so much they're thinking of renaming a certain diner dish to "Chronis and eggs".

You chose to go inactive, play alts, and then retire when it came to say "I lose, let's give you a token and move on". You dragged your feet on every single thing that lead to other players being griefed in your own cabal because you were too smug and self-righteous to just OOCly admit you lost one round.

That to me is spitting in the face of every other player who invested time into their characters on all sides of the conflict.

The worst though? Your patron who stood by and let you do it. They are the ones to really blame and what happened with the Empire should not have even occurred.

So as bad as you were as a poor sport OOCly, it pales in comparison to how it was handled by the patron. It's their job to police you, and they failed not only you but the rest of the mud in its entirety.

Five months of the Empire being like this, too. It wasn't a short thing that could have been missed by a month of inactivity, too. I can't even begin to express how sour of a taste this whole thing gave me.

I generally try to be upbeat and give people the benefit of the doubt - but your attitude as a player sucks and I hope you don't play again. Or if you do, are not given leadership of anything ever again until you learn to have some modicum of respect to other players.

You dick. To discourage me from returning to sk? You're the part of the community that ruins this game. Unfortunate for you, I'm still playing.
In regards to the oath, chronis is gone. Case closed. Why bother. But qq all you want. Whatever.
Ran the empire into the ground? I kept the empire alive and a big part of the game until we officially went to war with the court. Yeah. We got out asses kicked. I don't know how to accept defeat. But it's not like I said "duck it. I lost. I'm retiring. There were ic actions that lead to me not seeking a Rez.
And here I thought you guys would love to brag about "we pk'd him into deletion." Or some [REDACTED] like that. But oh was I wrong. You still are gonna be a dick.
Blow yourself.

That's pretty messed what you said theorplayer. This is coming from the inside. Chronis cared abt the state of the mc and was pretty active in plots and global rp.

No, it's not. No leader lets this situation got to where it went and 'cared'. Caring about not losing OOCly is not acceptable, under any circumstance, and is really poor form. Even this:

Are you even joking? No, I don't want this player returning if that's all he is going to do everytime. I happen to know that another immortal had to get involved to handle the business because the cabal (patron and leadership) was not taking care of it. The IC consequences he faced were because of this failure, and it all stemmed from an OOC desire not to say "I give up, here's 50 obsidian coins and some pardons".

Those terms are NOT unreasonable and I can't begin to tell you how poor form it is to straight up resort to being PK'd into the floor rather than admit defeat once because you, the player, can't handle something out of character.

So yeah, I'm going to call him out on it and going to stick it to him because this type of attitude is deplorable and solves nothing for no one.

Otherwise, he'll just get leadership again in another group and then when the going gets tough, duck out again and pretend he can't lose OOCly until an imm forces his hand? I can't even begin to describe how terrible this is for the game.

It's time you started thinking about the players behind the keyboards and realize we're a small community, and if you want to throw OOC hissyfits of not wanting to lose all the time - all you're doing is hurting everyone around you.

Again, this wasn't a week or a month of not wanting to surrender, it's been something like 4 months you were under the boot. Also, you were the *only* playergroup not to be able to work out a truce/surrender. Let me restate that one more time:

The only playergroup that chose not to play the game and RP defeat in a situation that you had hopelessly lost months ago due to OOC motivations.

At a certain point, it's deplorable and shows very little (if no) respect for your fellow players who invest time and energy into their characters, including the MC itself. And especially when I see you on alts instead of on Chronis while they're suffering and dying on theirs?

I don't know what defense you all want to rise to about this.

Edit: I am not flaming the player of Chronis, or saying he's hitler or was bad at the game, or anything. I simply take issue with what he (the player) did with his character (chronis) and how it affected others in the game. I think it shows very little respect for the other players of the game and I aired the grievance in his afterlife thread based purely on the actions that were taken and not about him as an individual.

I do not think the behavior is conducive to an RPPK environment that's healthy and I think it continues adding to the worst tendencies of this community, instead of helping aspire to more noble ones.

Is it harsh? Yes. But I've had to deal with his actions across two characters and both of whom I've had to find ways of dealing with his OOC motivated in game decisions. Once as ally, once as enemy, and both left me wishing he lost an internet connection in real life just so someone else could get involved and restore the RP atmosphere - that's really, really bad when you hope for that.

But, to be fair to the player, there's other players that also operate this way as well, so he's by no means a unique snowflake in this regard.

All I will contribute to this thread is the reiterated observation, made also in-game when confronted OOCly with this same alleged perspective, that no one on my side of these RPPK conflicts had any declared interest in driving someone into retiring, deleting, or quitting. We have rigorous RP expectations in place to provide means of removal for any cabal member who shows such a lack of refinement in his or her RPPK. You can reference Meissa's recent announcement post for substantiation of these clarifications, and I would prefer it if such allegations could cease.

Chronis and other Imperials seemed perfectly fine when Torbellino was put in the same situation they find themselves retiring in. I do find that interesting to reminisce about... but this thread doesn't need to mirror discussions currently ongoing in other, private forums. Harlequins: please refrain from sullying yourselves and our legacy in this thread. You've proven your quality to me before, and I trust that we can do so again.

I want to clarify that what the immortal has done so far isn't related to Chronis or his direct actions.
