Bash is the only skill in the game that can actually secure kills. It needs to stay.

A necro's dream isn't necessarily what is best for game balance.

Dal, let's be real. The current animates are garbage. There is a reason no one uses them or even thinks twice about it. Stored bought pets have better use then an animate.

That's a specious argument. There are three reasons people don't use animates, and it has nothing to do with the quality of animates. In no particular order, those reasons are shadowy wight, shadowy wight, and shadowy wight.

Of course, clearly it has nothing at all to do with the fact that animates are craptastically useless in PvP. How could we have missed that.

Being worse than a shadowy wight is not equivalent to being 'craptastically useless.' Something can be worse than a shadowy wight but still very useful in PvP.

Kinda like how someone can post something that isn't totally useless, but still doesn't contribute with any real information to the topic at hand?

He is challenging you to think...because he is clearly on a whole other level compared to us. Maybe he is even playing a different game. Seriously contribute instead of deflect.
Maybe Animates should be restructured a little differently so they can hold weapons. Or beef up their hps to give them some substance. And then make the wights have a little more concentration useage. Or if you want to go another route cap controls at 2.

Animates can already hold weapons. It's just that they deal lousy damage and have crap for HP.

Dulrik already nerfed necros into the ground off of the advice of someone who had never even played a necro when only 1 necro was active. I don't think it's worth spending any time at all trying to convince him to do anything else worthwhile to the class.

But that player was secretly dominating all the vets in pvp, Edoras!

Let's be real. I think you know as well as I do how overpowered necros + their controls are right now. When a halfling can run around with 4-5 animates and deal the kind of solo damage that they can, it's broken. It is right now a necro's dream, and it needs to be de-buffed for the sake of game balance.

So, beginning from that scenario, I know a necro can still be deadly even with just 1-2 controlled undead max. If he's got a few extra animated meat shields in there to add some extra damage, take the backstab, etc, he can still be buff without having to be broken buff. There's a balance that should be found between animate & control, and I think that balance needs to be tipped back in the direction of animate again. I'll be frank, although the system had previously been skewed to overpowered animates, the last round of necro changes were poorly-inspired and the method of "fixing" that was used was off-base, poorly implemented, and taken in the wrong direction, regressing the necro class 10 years back to being the 1-trick Control ponies they were a decade ago.
