Rhay's mother died when she was two years old. She didn't remember much about her but loved her. The spirit Rhay talked to most was that of her mother. Then her father had died just a couple years later in a war in Taslamar. From there she was raised by her aunt who eventually moved them to Ayamao. Rhay had started hearing the spirits speaking in her mind when she was 5 years old. Her father did not speak to her which was very hard on Rhay. He didn't believe that being a spirit speaker was a noble act. This in turn left Rhaytin to start drinking at a very young age. She managed to pull herself from being a complete drunk which in turn messed with her speech.
