This is becoming a very heated thread! Kind of makes me to look forward to new replies
I do think, however, that the point of discussion is really... moot.
Anyone that has played a table top role playing game in their lives - and anyone that has had any significant contact with other human beings, really - knows that there are some undeniable facts:
General Facts:
1. People have opinions. I won't repeat what opinions are like, I believe everybody knows.
2. People defend their opinions. Some times, violently.
3. People will not accept another's opinions, easily. They must first be willing to change their own opinion to do so.
RPG Facts:
1. Game Masters run the game (in our case, IMMS)
2. If a Game Master believes something must be done in a specific way, then that belief is a rule, because of rpg fact 1.
3. If a player feels slighted by a Game Master, they should either man up and get over it, contact a higher level staff and complain about it or stop playing
4. Alignments are collections of "guidelines" (a softer word for "rules") on how a character must act.
5. As per general facts 1, 2 and 3, you are fully entitled into believing you play the right alignment, until told you are not by a Game Master
6. Likewise, as per general facts 1, 2, and 3, every body else is fully entitled into believing you are not playing the right alignment, until told otherwise by a Game Master.
Therefore, this is not a conversation without right, or wrong, unless an Imm - or Dulrik - wishes to step in and say what is Right for
their game - which we must then accept as a rule. Because they are this game's Game Masters. Until then, this is nothing but a trolling, accusation, name-calling, thinly veiled threat tossing contest. Which is very entertaining.
Finally, never assume anything about anyone. Assumption is the mother of all [REDACTED] ups.
Like I said in my reply, a great character. Personally, I still believe a grey alignment would suit him best. Keyword here is "personally".
