We all know I never post much on the forums, but I lead the current guild of thieves and being a Grandmaster rogue. Getting your [REDACTED] jacked by log out thieves I found annoying. I think master is a good level to end the thievery at. but then again a PC rogue could steal from the fellow so what is the explanation of the sudden ability to just stop thieves dead in there tracks while your "asleep" or whatever you are when your logged out?

I would vote only for log-out thieves to be removed after champ.

PC and NPC rogues should still be able to rob you blind if you keep stuff in inventory.

You know, its a little surprising to read that we're worried about hoarders.

Do we really have that little faith in humanity these days? Granted, this is a game, an online entity rather, but the fact of item hoarding should be the least of our concerns. The fact stands that there exits many players who will find it (very) difficult to achieve the GM rank. Maybe they'll have trouble at the Champion rank. There are those that are experienced in leveling, and others that aren't.

The rank of Master, being the endpoint for logout theft sounds plenty damn fair. Not talking about NPC rogues, or PCs stealing from your inventory. Just the logout thefts. Grinding is already difficult enough...

It really would give the game a little more balance PK and PvP wise. Whats the con exactly? The possibility some bimbo twink decides to alt hoard rare items? So then, we don't trust in the capability of the Game Staff? We really don't believe in them? You mean we can't trust them to do their jobs at all? True, it would make things easier, the act of removing the necessity of checking character IP and horded inventory, but anyone can just log into a character every thirty days regardless of whatever position you stand on the hoarding scenario.

The concept sounds fair if you take the "crazy negatives" out of the equation.

End-Game, there is little stopping us from pushing Grandmaster or Champion to complete a character.

Other then, maybe rage deletes~♫

Would this make characters more competitive at non-GM?
GM and Champion are likely at a greater standpoint regardless. You gain additional attribute points End-Game. And you can't possibly Enchant/Consecrate for everything in one shoosh..

More competitive? The anwser is likely yes, as it would allow non-GM's to, at best, keep up...

There are already several hoarders and at least one of them mainly only logs on at the beginning of the month to grab all of the lewt and log off till the beginning of next month, to rinse and repeat.

Exactly. They already exist anyway. Might as well cut the requirement and push the hoarders harder...

I have no faith in players not to hoard. It is a long proven fact that they will if they can.

No. It's not a matter of trust, it's just too easy to get away with it. The staff should not be responsible for monitoring anything that can be automated. It only results in more perceived unfairness. That said, if you think someone is a hoarder, report it and there is a (not guaranteed) possibility that an admin will look into and, if appropriate, address the issue.

That sounds more like a pain in the rooty-tooty-cabbooty for you then anything. But thats pretty damn sad hearing it from you, Dulrik. Makes you want to stop trusting the pbase altogether. But the fact remains that it's already happening with GM characters. And that is just utterly stupid-wrong...

Really want to trust people, honestly...

Some people have a little more moral then others..

Edit:
You know what really grinds Smoochy's gears?

One thing that comes up over and over and over is that the abuses of the few cause the rest to suffer with code changes that have sweeping and often unpleasant side-effects for those that wouldn't have abused the pre-existing code in way XYZ. Take charm breaking over air rooms, for example. That was put in place because a few people were using charm to give people easy full junks by dropping them over cities. Now, sorcs can't take charms on a lot of high-level pve trips because a few jerk weasles decided to be jerk weasles.
