Hell, I've been thinking about it for about eight months, and have had several stellar PKers (sorry, I won't say who) come in to examine the system. Changes were made based on their feedback and then we had some other people look at it too. And after all of that, I'm STILL not sure exactly how it's going to work out. Too many variables have simultaneously changed. No matter how many smart people look at it in isolation, you can not tell exactly how it will turn out until you get dozens of people actually using it long enough to find the secret tricks.

And I am perfectly sincere when I wish you to have fun with that!

So how about less trolling and more playing?

I gladly would, I've just been busy lately. I also only have time to play one character at the moment, and not much time to roll a swashie so that I can spend time checking how weapon speed, damage, and accuracy affect his perfomance against accurate weapons, inaccurate weapons, massive weapons, and barehanded attacks. I personally think that testing all melee classes with the different variations of weapon enchantments and subtypes, especially against each other, would have been an important thing to put on the list of things to test on a change like the enchant change.

If those things have been done, then the "data" that the pbase is going to give you is going to be very lacking in comparison. Considering that not many players have the time to invest into playing melee characters well, and only a very small, if not nonexistent, subset of those players roll swashies, I project that it'll be a while until you get some data that is worth implementing a balance change over.

My post had an entirely different intent than Edoras's. I was just laughing at the idea that someone has been PKing all the veterans without any of them noticing all this time. If there was a character who was highly successful in pvp, but whose player did not post on the forums, people would talk about it. The only examples I can think of was Vaalim, until we learned that it was Thran, and Namasto. I don't know if we ever found out who plays Namasto, though Thran again wouldn't be a bad guess. I'll probably make more jokes about the mystery PKer with the winning record vs veterans who doesn't post on the forums. It's hilarious.

I'm betting with the new enchant changes I can kill a swashie in 2 rounds instead of 3 now. Especially with it being harder to obtain AP now.
