I am looking to get back into SK after many years of being away.

I was wondering if I could get some advice on what I should roll to get my feet wet. I am looking to roll a darkie and was thinking Priest, Shaman, or Sorc. I have always enjoyed the priest and played several of them but I am also super rusty when it comes to Rp.

Thanks and I appreciate any advice given.

I'm no pro, but from my experiences, Priest is the most newbie-friendly class of those three.

Also, if you do go darkie, and roll a non-shaman, I hear the Ain-Eye religion is recruiting. >_>

Sorc and priest are solid choices. If you want to explore solo go sorc. Either class will get a lot of p2p interaction.

Priest is a very solid choice when you are coming back and/or learning the game. Darkie is all well and good if you really want but I would suggest going with a neutral religion to start (Death, Magic, Luck). Priests always bring a lot of RP with them and a good way to brush up.

Sorc is a great choice for being able to explore and have fun with little need for interaction with others.

Warlock is another good class that you can have a bit of fun with for exploring the game with a bit of independence.

Welcome back! :)

Sorc and priest are both fun for learning the game and being very needed in most scenarios, whether it be for adventuring or for enchanting/brewing/scribing.

Shaman is more difficult on the mechanics side of things on all counts: You will find leveling, exploration and playing your class well much more difficult as a shaman.

Thank you for the advice I have decided to make a neutral priest.

I am not sure which religion yet guess I will let the game take me. Currently playing from a phone as I am still without power from the storm. Hopefully I can keep up till I get my laptop charged.

I feel your pain playing from a phone...

Welcome back. I think priest is a good choice that will help you ease into RP, PK and adventuring.

Since you've say you've been gone a while I want to mention that there is a new(ish) alignment. Dogmatic. This is a grey alignment that is very law focused. It works fantastically with the Ain faith so if you were still looking at having a darker bent to your character but wanted a grey aura it would be a good option for Ain-Eye. Not that I am pushing you in any direction. From what I've seen there is at least one fairly active member from pretty much all the faiths so you should be able to find people to at least talk to if not necessarily be able to invest you. If you have difficulties either finding a member of a religion you are interested in or the one you do like does not have a high follower please send me an email at Sadal.the.Seer@gmail.com with your character's name, your approximate play times and obviously what it is in reference to. Enjoy!

Ain-Eye I hear is the best faith of them all. All the cool kids are in it. They love Dogmatic alignment characters too. Man, I wish I could join them. I want to be cool like them. XD

Don't listen to her. She's a pretty cool kid, don't get me wrong; but all the >>>REALLY, SUPER, ULTRA-COOL<<< kids are joining Algorab, Lord of Vengeance, Father of Fear, and Supreme Tyrant. Definitely one of the darker of the dark religions IMO.
