hi everyone this may sound like a dumb question but until a few days ago i'd never even heard of an MUD.
I killed someone and got a leather backpack, I already have a backpack full of stuff and when i use the look in backpack command it will only look in this new backpack, my question is can i also use this newly acquired backpack or can i only use one backpack and have to drop the other one? (also if i can use multiple backpacks what command lets me differentiate between them)

The code is really weird if you are /wearing/ one of the backpacks or one is on the ground

If you remove the backpack you're wearing, you can then use

look in backpack

and

look in 2.backpack

and any other commands involving the backpacks, you'd use backpack/2.backpack/3.backpack/4.backpack/etc

Using a number-dot-item syntax will allow you to differentiate between multiple items with the same keywords. So, in the backpack example you posted above, look in 2.backpack will allow you to look into the second item you're carrying with the "backpack" keyword. This is true for NPCs, portals, PCs, etc.

Well, moving around in ADOM is relatively easier, certainly!

Nice to see another roguelike fan playing SK. Hope you enjoy.
