How is it mechanically possible to riposte an attack with your bare hands? A riposte is not an attack with your free weapon, it's an attack from the same weapon the character parried with. It comes from the fencing, where they're only allowed one weapon, and last I checked they weren't allowed to punch the opponent in the grill, or administer judo to the opposing fencer.

It's obvious that the code checks for a successful parry with riposte as those weapons that have "no-parry" flags cannot be riposted.

Fist swashi is probably still a pretty cool idea.

This belongs in another topic, not entirely sure where but I think there is a thread somewhere, perhaps Dulrik can move this there.... but ardith's comment about punching-in-the-grill and judo made me think of it...

Why don't swashies and rogues have some sort of grapple skill (low chance of success, but target being prone makes it better) in which the swash/rogue grabs his opponent, adding an enhanced-damage-like (above and beyond edam) effect to his next round of attack.

Sprites really should be like humans in that they can be just about anything. Add some severe racial restriction about hvy armor, give them the class (and delf bard) and everyone is happy.

...for some reason, the idea of a delf shaman makes my brain explode. I just can't wrap my head around it.
