The necro class was brought into the realm of sanity. It's still by far the most powerful class in the game Syn.

Items in SK are a part of the balance.

I don't see why you have such a problem acknowledging that.

We are playing an RPG.

And equipment makes a difference.

Wow, wtf is going on here!

The only way for an item to be better than the dirty diamond found IN EXILE is for it to have a script.

I'm pretty sure I'm never going to go to the IC or anywhere else when I can get equivalent of the best armor in the game, inside Exile.

Use big girl words when we're in the adult forums.

Look, items providing tiers between players is different than items making entire swaths of classes useless/impotent/a lesser tier, no matter how geared. Items should not be used to supplement class balance. Buffs that inhibit class balance should be removed, as should items that provide these buffs. That is completely separate from the concept that items should provide tiers between players. I believe they should. That's tiers between players/individuals, not CLASSES.

PS: I half-invented the 60-wraith ninja with Ky (ninjad every relic in the realms onto the MC guardian solo) and I was also there before animates were even useful. Once again, big girl words.

So we already have so many suits of armor in the game that we could fully outfit 4x the playerbase. We have it so that the material of your weapon doesn't matter. You can PK with a tanso/mithril weapon just fine.

And now you guys want to remove scripted eq.

Why even have eq? Jesus.

Who said that removing scriptd eq means we keep the 59 suits of good armor? You seem to be purposefully obfuscating the point of the conversation by making things unrelated to each other equivalent. Removing buffs does not mean that the world is fixed and absolutely nothing else needs changed.

No one here said to keep all the good armor. Separating tiers of armor is a good example of how to put tiers between individuals, not classes.

Stop being so defensive, sarcastic, and generally harpy-like. We're trying to be constructive, mostly.

I sure haven't seen anyone say to do anything about it besides myself.

So you extrapolate that to mean no one agrees or thinks its a good idea?

I agree, but there are bigger fish to fry in my eye - like buffs that ruin the balancing factors of some classes.

No. As it stands, buffs are a secondary issue.

Especially since it's the only thing separating people.

You can die and get junk looted every day, and you will still have access to a set of diamond armor with great MP. Or better.

Or god forbid a set of sacred eq. With scripts!

Until that issue is fixed, buffs do not need to be touched.

Also, I'm waiting for an example of how buffs ruin class balance.

I sure haven't seen any.

So far, this thread has consisted of you and TreeFinger qqing about having [REDACTED] eq.

There are a number of scripted items that need to be removed/wimped into the ground. All of them? No.

There are also a number of just ITEMS in the game that need to be removed.

What's next, are we going to make all eq unlimited and make it so that you don't lose anything when you die?

WoW, here we come!

Honestly, any sort of change like this would completely /destroy/ the balance we do have. Which seems to be a pretty good one, afaik. Are there currently classes who are useless in 1vs1? Yes. Changing this isn't going to change that. Delaney has ran Cyndane off multiple times despite me having the dread RESIST ELEMENTS SCRIPT! NOOOOO!

And you think sorcs/necros are bad now?

There should be an effort to make sure there is class balance.

There should be an effort NOT to use equipment to seperate the level of players.
