A mercurial female deep-elf asks to you 'Is this a joke?'
NOPE.
Callie was born to an elven mother and a human father in the poorer streets of Exile. She was never smart or very good at anything other than playing with wooden swords, so it was practically all she did. Her father was very paranoid about Callie getting taken away, so she had never even left Exile as a child and grew to resent all the uptight people who never really had any fun, and didn't really understand why people were always fighting over religion and politics so much that her father wouldn't even let her out of his sight for fear of getting hurt. But, she still loved Taslamar.
She finally came of age and entered the training grounds and began to get better at using the swords. She learned a little bit about religions from the Book of All Gods, and thought they were so neat that she got a tattoo of the symbol of every church in alphabetical order in the realms across her collarbone. She couldn't commit to just one church, and made up her mind to worship all of them equally. Only a few people ever asked about the tattoo.
Early on she met several people who impacted her life. Even though she had grown up detesting the values that people fought over, she began to see Exile getting attacked over and over again, and only a Peacekeeper named Tolene was there to defend it. She made up her mind then and there to have purpose - protect people from getting hurt in her city and stop people from trying to hurt Taslamar, which she loved so deeply. She also met Reinald and Aurenna, who would become her best friends... sadly, Reinald would later become an enemy that gave her more emotional pain than the leaders of darkness. She met Alaric - via a slap across the face that gave her painfully mixed emotions for the rest of her life.
She met Viryenat for a time and fell in love, and got another tattoo, a symbol of a spirit doll of a bobcat, since he was a barbarian and she had not been, until this time, properly worshiping the spirits. But as so many did, he soon abandoned her. Callie resolved never to deal with love again, and focused on fighting instead, becoming Captain and later Justicar of Taslamar. Tari joined the Peacekeepers and gave us a much needed dose of seriousness. There was no one else in the realm that Callie respected more than Tari.
Then she met Maelgrim, a rogue in the -Hammer- who changed her opinion on uptight zealots forever. Previously she thought that the Hammer was full of weak-willed ninnies like Anthal or ridiculous zealots who brought war and slaughter upon themselves. She couldn't believe how much life and happiness he brought to her, even though they were quite unlike. After a long friendship, they were eventually engaged and married. And then he deleted like a week later.
Thanks a lot to everyone I interacted with. I hope I don't leave any names out. First and foremost, Tolene and Tari for just all-around being some of the most helpful and wonderful characters in the game for Callie. Tari patiently helped me get the hang of switching stances around while fighting and led groups for me, and Tolene just put up with me in a million PVEs. Thanks to the IMM who changed my adjective from "buxom" to "blond" when I decided I wanted to take the character seriously, even if you couldn't spell "blonde." Thanks to Gwynnestri and Dinendal. The Peacekeepers are really a lot of fun.
Also thanks to, in no particular order: Maelgrim, Aurenna, Reinald, Alaric, Galiene, Iliphalia, Gailehn, Veloras, Xavoth, Surrit, Kaim, Viryenat, Toji, Caerthynna, Cyndane, Valshea, Jaena, Takuma, Kinaed, Delaney, Cendre, Aratee, Miril, Tavia, Jayvan, Kougyoku, heck anyone who ever PKed me or interacted with me. It was a lot of fun!
