Yeah, but we were for a bit hitting mid 40's. That's a big dip. They tell me issues they have with the game (mainly terrible players who make terrible characters that don't get reined in and helled for it).

See how easy it is to make stuff up?

You completely missed the point of what Jennbo said. And I don't feel the need to try to explain it. Gl

Also we hit 35+ every day pretty easily, and that is like all lighties. Once darkies are able to get some relief work wise(new borns as well:D) we could easily be seeing 40s.

Yeah, but we were for a bit hitting mid 40's. That's a big dip. They tell me issues they have with the game (mainly lightie rp and how accessibility is only for the elites).

Ok let me put this to rest. The guys in the "elite" hate my guts. They all know who I am playing and my character is treated the same despite their feelings for me. I am also not playing a complete screw up yet. If for some reason my RP degrades into something that conflicts with theirs, I expect them to trounce me on it.

Now saying this, people can play the game and seperate IC and OOC and I am sure most of the vets work their rears off to help new players, I can think of one at least.

This entire discourse on elitism and stopping people from playing is only applicable to the forums where people come and read the nonsense we spew back and forth at each other, it has no bearing in the game whatsoever.

While we each have an opionion and are free to express it I think everyone needs to just chill, back off, and let stupid drop.

In short, quit trolling each other and go play the game and have some fun.

I think this thread has run its needed course and then some. The topic made has been discussed enough that never going to happen can be assumed. We can now move on to trolling another thread.

I voted no. Yes some people may use this to as a pretext for RPless PK, but I think it's in the minority, and that shouldn't be a reason for the rest of us to loose it.
And as long as we're talking about alignment system changes that'll never happen, I'd much rather see a SEMI dynamic alignment system. You'd still choose your alignment, but predefined acts could slowly degrade your alignment. Breaking into a new alignment would have an automatic xp loss and would mean an across the board penalty to xp earnings... Anyway neither of these'll happen, so I'll just stop there.

spidermonkey, I'm indifferent towards your character right now. I neither love her nor hate her. Although you send me really confusing PMs, that always leave me thinking wtf.

Yeah, my ability to express myself is highly askew sometimes and random gibberish makes perfect sense to me. :-?

And it's not my character it's me. Our characters interact as they should. I am happy the ooc doesn't interfeer with the ic.

While I entirely agree with you, Pat, none of this will ever happen. Simply put, there'd be too many instances of lighties trying to kill other lighties simply because they wouldn't be able to tell the difference right off hand..

Wait, that isn't happening already?

No, there really isn't, and the fact that you continue to harp on about this when it's happened I think 2x in the past 3-4 months (one actually cursable) is getting tiring.

As for the dwindling playerbase: school just started. A lot of players have been leaving for it. Some of your favorite characters will go very inactive because of it, whether because they study or they work in the school system. Summers in SK have historically always been more active. It's our goal to try and get people to come try the game when we're in the busier parts of the year (Fall, Spring). Otherwise, we've been hitting the 40s just fine, and I expect that Sundays (which I've noticed are the busiest days on the MUD at times) will still be very busy times. Maybe I'll finally volunteer to throw something for a bonanza soon? Who knows.

Bump.

I think these spells should be removed.

It'd require that your actions be based on someone's actions (or at least their race) and would help break up the light vs dark that SK has become since the implementation of CRS.

As far as the defense for stuff like using SoF. RP-wise it's pretty dumb that you'd walk into a room with 5 mages sitting and studying and proceed to kill the 2 that have a "dark aura", then walk off, leaving the other 3.

The downside to this is that the imms would need to be more involved, and we'd have a lot more gray aura [REDACTED].

nothing wrong with light vs dark. It's been that way since I started. However, it's really weird that all the darkie factions are friends with each other, and aren't trying to subvert one another, and kill each other.

tl;dr Darkies aren't darkies.
