So, is there a reason sprites can't be priests? I would have imagined this would have gone in about the time dwarves/centaurs could be hellions/paladins.

Statistically, they'd be second only to gnomes and deep-elves as good priest classes. The RP is definitely there to be a spiritual representative (see: shaman), and sprites aren't banished from religions at all.

Discuss. Primarily, because I want a sprite priest.

I think the argument comes into the heavy armor faiths, 'cause apparently sprites can't wear heavy armor.

Well, that was my little secret, because size tiny + heavy armor + prot would be abso-#&*$ing-lutely awesome.

Dulrik said he always thought priests were sissies for not considering front row work, amirite?

This comes up every year or so. I think the primary reasons are that A) from an RP perspective, sprites aren't self-controlled enough to stick to being a cleric of their deity forever, and B) from a gameplay perspective, sprites in heavy armor are apparently broken? I'm not too sure about the second reason, but that's generally what I recall hearing.

Besides, if you want a heavy armor sprite, just roll a halfling, gnome or dwarf that wears tiny armor and polymorphs during PvP!

Point A disproved by sprite shaman.

Yeah. The RP point is disproved by their allowance into religions and being shaman.

Point 2 is why I want one. Great caster stats AND front-line stats, as far as priests go. Let's buff something instead of nerfing it for once :D

The clear answer is to roll a Sargas MC dwarf/sprite priest.
