It should be noted that the level cap would mean that min-maxers (i.e., "re-rollers") are not affected.

Since, the forums knows the character's names already, or at least the forum flags. Could the afterlife thread be tied to a person's character in which if they fill out a afterlife thread (att and sc automatically loaded into it) then the char is permanently deleted and for people who don't want to post an afterlife thread but still want to delete, have the option to do so at the afterlife thread.

I like the idea of it being tied to hours more than level. If you've played a character for more than 5 hours, that seems to me to be a real character.

For forum integration, it's only one way. The game pushes some information to the forums, but the forums do not pass info back to the game. So if you retire in game, it would be possible for an automatic AL thread to be generated, but not the other way around. That's probably for the best anyway.

To me, until I get to jman-vet I really don't know if I like a certain class/race combo or not, or even if I like the rp of the char. Up until then you might have religion induction but that is it.

Regardless of whether you like it or not, I still would consider it a real character. Once you've introduced yourself to even one person in the game, you have made a presence for yourself. I guess that begs the question of whether greeting someone should be enough to disqualify you from being able to delete.

I like the time idea better. Even if it's a very specialized case, I wouldn't like to see a feature that encourages people not to greet others at low levels.

Not allowing delete if someone greets another person, all that will do is cause no newbie greet anyone until they feel their char is solidified.

And considering many of the mentor calls go out right away upon enrolling, I'd say that level one people are often being greeted by would be mentors who are looking for those lovely stat points. Just saying. Greeting does not a character make, I agree however with the level requirement, since honestly by the time you've written a desc, have an adj and are out of the training ground you should have some basic idea of who you are.

I used to hate getting 1261345762478364561234534656 tells from the Proving Grounds instructor that the same name character has entered the realms in less than an hour. Made me want to turn off my mentor flag.
