Just out of curiosity, are all the forums besides GD fair game for imms to flame in while simultaneously reminding non-imm posters of the rules against flaming in non-GD forums? I just want to be clear on whether this double standard is sweeping, or contained only to pantheon threads.

Thanks in advance for clarifying the hopefully-not-arbitrary rules.

I'm sorry. I honestly didn't consider anything I said to be particularly inflammatory, especially compared to the comments already being made. But I did not mean to offend anyone's sensibilities. In fact, I won't even complain about how hard it is to work with all of ardith's login/logout spam on my screen.

QQ more, newb.

I'm honestly surprised that an IMM thought it wasn't ridiculous to allow someone to use a single item to open all the doors in the entire game save the precious few that actually have names.

But... maybe not, I guess. But when trips for one specific PC take 10 minutes, while for others it takes 3 hours, I think that's pretty silly. Rewarding someone with a completely OP item for winning a competition that is half-determined by who can log on at the time of the competition is rather absurd.

Absurd or awesome?

You can get to Ephialtis in like 15 minutes with that thing. All you have to do is plan your trip around a certain deep-elf. Throw in the awesomeness that is the portal rings and you've pretty much won SK.

That was kind of my point.

I am pretty sure that some things were overlooked making the item. It was also broken from the git-go. And apparently, there were also agreements made between IMM and player. Still, I understand where you're coming from. I think being able to unlock any jail cell would have been sufficient.

For what it's worth though, I have fixed it to be used more the way it was intended.

I just hate those "don't do the crime if you can't do the time" arguments. It's like people keep forgetting it's a game and is supposed to be fun. Jail isn't fun. It's OOCly very frustrating. That's the problem.

I wouldn't consider killing an endless amount of bounty NPCs fun either, nor would I consider forcing someone to constantly grind for money to be fun. Not that I'm saying it would be ok to force someone to endure a full prison sentence, I am merely stipulating that complaints about unfair OOC treatment of players who are being sent to jail are being voiced by players who are treating others unfairly in a different manner.

I just changed the argument from "don't do the crime if you can't do the time" into "if someone slaps you, slap them back".

More like "If someone slaps you, hope that the inactive darkie bank character logs on to kiss it and make it better."

Jail sucks, that's why jailbreaks are possible. I mean crap, I spent a load of time sitting in jail as Pilnor, and the only reason i wasn't broken out is because -literally- no lighties could have pulled it off. And a jailbreak only requires like 2 high level well equipped PCs. For almost 3-4 days straight, for the entire time I was logged in on those days, not a single time was there ever enough lighties to break me out: And there were always a few PCs to defend it even then.

But in this case there was no jailbreak, despite there being ample opportunity to from the darkie side of things. Instead, there was a guy who logged onto his character for one of the 10 hours a month that he logs and let him out of jail instantly without any effort.

Umm, where the hell have you been? Zellidon logs in quite a bit, though not too much this week as I believe he's been sick. But far more than 10 hours a month.

Yeah wtf are you on Edoras, I work second shift sorry I can't be on when it's convenient for you to kill me. If you want the numerous hours of logs I have for the month feel free to browse through them. I was hospitalized last week and very ill so yes the past week has been rough on me as far as internet time goes.

Sept 1st
You have played 2866 hour(s) so far.
to current
You have played 2907 hour(s) so far.

41 hours enough for you for the month so far or should I throw away more of my life for your satisfaction? I'll try to stay out of the hospital just for you too.

My bad then. I thought he was pretty inactive. I guess we're just different timezones.
