Actually, a twist on that idea so it doesn't take away too much from mercs: Blitz has the ability to hit the front line (IMO, with a reach weapon and while in the front line, should be able to blitz the second row), a swash is supposed to be a finesse/whirling dervish type fighter. Maybe making it that they rush through the enemy line, blades dancing, and make it a column group strike as opposed to a row group strike?

Just thinkin out loud here.

I actually am really for this idea, I am sure most casters are not, but this would even out the playing field for swashies, give them something to actually be worried about.

More like the swashie would sneak by, just like a rogue does during backstab.

It certainly has interesting implications, but swashies are typically death to casters anyway (thanks to taunt). They really need something to put them back onto an even playing field with other melee classes, not something else to threaten casters.

I agree with Nightwing. There's no reason they need buffed against casters. They need to be equalled to the other melee classes, that's their problem.

Without much experience with the class past the early stages, as I tend to agree with the previous statement of their lacking skills list, is the swashbuckler more of a defensive class now? Other posts speak of them with two fast weapons going mode defensive and being an evasion tank. I'm not sure if people are more interested in a defensive boost (like a chance to auto parry with the first aggressive swing against them) or an offensive boost (something similar to backstab or cleave, a big damage opening move)?

How about a skill that when dual wielding finesse weapons gives the swash bonus AC?
That will help their survivability some since they do not get shields and give them blitz to help with their offence.

With the latest code update making massive weapons harder to parry, they've really lost their bread and butter the parry skill, which leads into a successful riposte, and therefore robs them of most of their melee potential. It is amusing to see the bandalore tweaked, but a lot of other weapons entering the scene and giving swashbucklers the option of only dying horribly to these weapons.

Are there any plans on making the landsknect a massive weapon?
