Hi, BlackFox here, returning from a long spell of absents. Just figure I hit the Forum scene and see and meet anyone interested in talking to me. I'd would love to become more apart of the community, now and more so than ever. In anycase, salutation to all that view this, and Looking forward to meeting you(s guys).

Thanks for investing the time with the greetings. Still got a few questions.
1.) Where do you all socialize (if you even do that here)?
2.) How do you feel less alienated in SK?

I ask this because, SK as I knew it wasn't very friendly to people who didn't know how to RP (well) and did not know where all the cool places to level. Even now, it seem lacking once you leave the newbie areas.

People generally socialize in the Inns. Every main city has one, usually not far away from the newbie training grounds. With a little exploring, it shouldn't be very hard for you to find the right place. Also, if your character is of apprentice status or lower, you have access to the mentor command. Read the help files on how to use it, and I highly suggest that you DO use it. As a newer player, it can connect you to a player with more experience who can help you adapt to the pace of the game. :)

Unless you focus on peak times, you can probably count on fewer than 30 players being online. Divine them by SK's 30000+ rooms, and the density speaks for itself.

Inns, while a good magnet for certain kinds of players, are bad places to idle because they are a good magnet for other kinds of players.

Many areas probably seem less 'cool' because the cool stuff they were built to contain is not there, but instead, in the inventory of some other character.

The tell command is probably your best bet for finding out if people are interesting enough to get to know better, but beyond that...

I'll be honest, the best way to have an in-character friendship is to found it on an out-of-character one. This will lead to your availabilities, interests, styles, and overall ability to synchronize being better from the start.

The best way to have a friend to play SK with is to recruit one yourself.

And if you've paid attention to the forums recently, you already know that the best way to enjoy the forums is to ignore grep.

Welcome!

I offered substantiated, useful advice. Your obsession with following-up my comments confounds the faculties. Flame me elsewhere, Edoras. This was supposedly a thread about learning about people, not their petty opinions of other people.

People's actions, especially their reactions to other individuals, can be extremely telling for many reasons. Not the least of which being the varied behaviors/personalities they show depending on which player they are associating with. While I disagree with any flaming in this thread, it is a valid way for the OP to begin to understand the community.

Edit: BTW OP, this is probably all you'll hear from me on the forums for the next month or so, but welcome anyway and I will see you in game!
