You ever try fighting horseback? Attempt to do anything with riding a horse then comment on how easy it would be to trip someone. The stuff you see on TV is rehearsed over and over and over and over and over and those horses will do what they do in their sleep because of it. A real battlefield is chaos and there is a lot going on.

There are horses trained to do some pretty awesome things in warfare but You try tripping someone while your horse is [REDACTED] stomping your enemy.

Actually no surprisingly I haven't tried fighting on horseback. But since you seem to be an expert on the subject I'll pose the same question to you. Have you ever tried fighting on horseback? People in rodeos chase down bulls and lasso them, which to me sounds about 10x as hard as sticking a weapon out and tripping someone.

That lasso usually has about a 6-10 foot diameter, so that in itself is a pretty huge thing to be throwing at something, a lot different than trying to put a 1.5" diameter pole between a moving persons legs. On of the things about getting close to anyone with a weapon while on horseback is the horse's legs getting cut, they are extremely vulnerable.

If you had special training perhaps, like you specialize in say some sort of riding skill, but not for the average warrior.

Personally I worry more about my butt falling off a horse and concentrate on that, you would be surprised how many times I fell off a horse at a dead stand still just by leaning the wrong way in the saddle and the horse exhaling so the girth loosened, then plop right on the ground.

Real equestrian people ride English saddles.

I prefer an australian outback in certain situations, english saddles are silly if you are trying to do any type of work, I also prefer something to grip with when I have a horse spazzing on a trail. I miss my big horn :(

Equestrians ride whatever they prefer.

Some of the best trained horses I have seen have been under a western saddle.

Western saddles are for trained horses. English saddles are for experienced riders.

It's not actually that tough to knock someone off of their feet. We're one of the worst animals in the world when it comes to balance. Any blow by a guy riding a horseback would likely knock someone off of their feet to begin with because of the added mass of the mount. Fortunately, SK is but a game, and real life mechanics aren't portrayed in the game. Being tripped is probably the least of your worries when facing a mounted opponent, anyway.

Sounds like a bash if you want to consider mass. I believe Rial is suggesting that he should be able to mount a steed, maintain formation, stand second row, and trip. There should be drawbacks if you're going to be mounted anyway.
