It's a shame what happened to leveling. It's too easy to level now, but it's also too boring. There's too many experts and mentors walking around. Not enough apprentices and journeyman. Anyone remember when lighties and darkies leveled in different areas? I just logged in and found four of the nine people online leveling in the exact same area..... in a game with 30,000 plus rooms.

If imms what just go ahead and make the chancel and tlaxcala actually a challenge to level at, that would be good.

My theory on the most recent leveling settings was that we wanted to make it easier at low levels in order to promote more new people getting sucked into the game. Gaining a level is exciting, especially when you first start playing. If it's too challenging at the start, they tend to quit.

This was compensated by making it harder to get from Mentor onward. And it seems as if it is probably still too easy to get from Mentor onward, but some people are always going to find a fast way to do it.

I'll have to echo what Edoras said. No matter what you do with levelling, you're never going to please everyone. It will either be too easy or too hard, or both at the same time. People do agree that it should be fun, though, so at least there's some common ground.

Leveling should be about gradually giving you your abilities so that, if you're new to the class, you learn how to play it in phases and can work on certain things before moving on to others. You get good at something, put it aside in your toolbox, and start playing with your new toys. For this reason, I support the earlier levels, which give fewer unique abilities, going by faster.

Actually, hitting them with a riding crop makes them gallop. True story.
