Should Voodoo be nerfed/removed, and if so, should shamans receive a buff to compensate?

I just want to pipe in and say that my character is not going to die to a double voodoo. I'm pretty confident I can take a triple voodoo and still be walking. I'm not arguing that voodoo isn't lame though. Hell, shamans used to voodoo my scout for fun, and though I routinely survived double voodoos, it was just annoying when I was sitting having a meeting about who we were going to pillage and rape next as the Adepts, and in comes two voodoos. It just became an annoyance.

However, a scry type spell. [REDACTED] that. Shamans could lose everything at master status as far as spell casting goes and still be a damn good class.

Yeah how about a Scry type spell that sends your Ancestors to search for the target but during that time you are paralyzed the length would depend on how far away the target is. That would be pretty cool.

Please, I do not want this thread to get derailed into actual discussion over what should replace voodoo. Please stick to answering the questions in the poll. If there is general consensus that voodoo should be removed/nerfed (and that something should compensate for this), another thread will be made to discuss possible ways of compensating for loss of voodoo.

Ohhhhhh, double-voodoo all the way!

IT'S STARTING TO LOOK LIKE A TRIPLE VOODOO!!!

Voodoo is dumb. I actually leveled up a grey-aura gnome shaman with max mana trains just so that I could grief people with voodoo, but I can't bring myself to actually do it, because I know it's ridiculous and would just (understandably) make people angry on an OOC level. The fact that it's so easy to avoid all the drawbacks of voodoo just encourages players who are outnumbered on the who list to log off. The last time I saw voodoo used was when Veret and I were attacking Ayamao, Feyih voodoo'd Veret and he died, so I barely picked up his stuff before some people ganked his corpse, gated out of the city, and then tried to gate to Feyih within a minute, but I couldn't because she'd immediately killed herself after the voodoo, just to get resurrected by a NPC later.

Yeah, voodoo is stupid.

This thread is not so fun when edoras agrees with baldric and I. But yes voodoo is stupid.

So far, the poll results seem to suggest that the sk populace agrees with that sentiment.

I think the concept of voodoo is nifty but doing pain or killing someone is the wrong idea. I think it should be a SKILL where the shaman [REDACTED] a voodoo doll of someone and that persons arm, leg, or whatever should get mangled. Put some sort of limitation on the [REDACTED] but that'd be a nifty pvp utility right there.

I'm giving this thread a bump so people who didn't notice it before can vote and offer their input.

This thread didn't really spark the interest or discussion as the sorcerer one, but the votes still indicate what the majority thinks.

Down with voodoo!
