Should sorcerers be limited to one charmie at a time?
Yes - this would make sorcs less OP and alleviate the NPC wars mentality of the game 67%  67%  [ 20 ]
No - sorcs need to have access to multiple charmies at a time in order to be viable 20%  20%  [ 6 ]
I abstain from voting (Snuffles option) - please explain 13%  13%  [ 4 ]

Because:
a) As you've said it yourself, they aren't the only race capable of the discussed feat.
b) I thought this would be pretty obvious from my previous post - deep-elves can actually be something else other than sorcerers. Giving sorcerer deep-elves more power because deep-elves themselves are too fragile is illogical.

That's like saying that making giant-sized arrows hurt less would be a nerf to scouts, but not giants.

No, it isn't. What you're saying is something like: Giants are weak therefore giant sized arrows should hurt more. If you think a race is weak for some reason, then it is a racial issue that needs to be resolved, and not a class issue because that particular race/class combo can achieve something most cannot.

I never said it wouldn't be a nerf to deep-elves, I said that the issue with deep-elves lies with something other than sorcs having two charms.

I honestly wouldn't be running into a fight on any sorc that doesn't have a 24 or better int with two charms. It is really easy to break concentration and have one of the charms turn on you and then your plans are out the window.

I can see that you are upset with Edoras doing it, but when it becomes more common place across multiple sorc/race combos then I would worry about it. Personally I like two charms to explore with.

For the last time, this thread had nothing to do with Edoras.
I stopped playing this game before Edoras rolled a delf sorc.
I'm not upset at Edoras for playing this OP combo or using this OP tactic. I've done it in the past as well.
How is it going to become more common over multiple sorc/race combos. I don't understand what you're talking about.
I'm sure you like having two charms to explore with, but wouldn't four be even better?

Four would be ridiculous, but nice.

I can land two charms on a 22 int but one flamestrike landing well will make me drop one. I can imagine and ambush or practically anything that gets a "that hurt" message will cause you to drop a charm.

You aren't going to see this problem with anything but human and delf sorc or age ticked sorc and then you still need prep. Limit what you can order your charms to do, but I do like having two charms when I explore, it's nice, I really don't want to loose that option.

The way I see it, a sorcerer with two charms isn't a big issue if holding the concentration on two charms means they aren't very effective at doing anything else. That's how this was originally balanced. The problem seems to be that sorcs can still be super-effective just standing there and wielding wands, scrolls or possibly even staves. Therefore the real problem is balance on spell-casting items not charms.

haha, I love the new feature where you can see what others have posted while you were responding. I was about to respond something like "I can't believe this thread is 8 pages, it's not like Dulrik will say anything about it!"

I've been saying that for a while. No idea how to really fix magic devices and such like that though.
