Spirit disorientation is *supposed* to be a kick in the teeth. Prior to its implementation certain lighties would spam die to darkies in failed assaults over and over again, many times repeating attacks several times in one hour. This code was placed in to discourage that sort of thing.
Kinda goes with what grep was saying about PVP specifically... however I have to agree that spirit disorientation is supposed to be a kick in the teeth.
Period.
Be it a turn of bad luck with a NPC, a failed PVP battle, or just plain stupidity (teaches you to spam bash/heal and keep failing against someone/NPC you shouldn't be fighting in the first place... use 'consider' dummy).
Spirit disorientation is meant to be humbling, if nothing else. And from a player of a priest's perspective, you can EASILY notice the ones this humbling effect is lost on.
This shouldn't need to be changed for veterans of the game, they know what will happen if they die, and
should be smart enough to prevent it by now. If we are talking about the clueless newbie, ie. when asked if you are new to shattered kingdoms you say 'yes', and they are the ones who get the benefit of lowered disorientation time (or stats or whatever), it will be abused by veterans for sure.
It's a neat thought, I especially would like to see SD get worse and worse as you level (much like leveling itself), but overall it is a futile thought and should just be abandoned.
Now it's time to go to bed. Good day to you all.
