Nerd Post! You do know that katanas are primarily two handed weapons? The long hilt, the fighting style, and basically everything else is tailored for two handed use. Just seems weird seeing all the NPCs and players running around using a katana and shield, which is virtually unheard of.

Did you know this is a game of fantasy? To some extent I understand but to the other it is really a created world loosely based on reality.

If you are okay with one-handed no-dachi existing, then you should have no problem with katana.

I thought about your point, but unless they change all the concepts of what a katana is or how it is wielded (IE: Shorter hilt, shorter length), which I doubt was the intention of the imm staff, then it makes no sense. If they go through that trouble, why even bother calling it a katana if you are going to change what it is in the fantasy world? By your justification let's have a khopesh be a boomerang, or have a scimitar be a dancing lady at the Inn you pay to have sex with.

Those scimitars are total sluts.

Oh sorry, I re-read what I posted and I didn't see where I was okay with them existing. Please stop using psychic powers to probe my mind, it's rude.

I wasn't trying to probe your mind. I was just saying that the fact there are one-handed no-dachi is a much more ridiculous thought than one-handed katanas. At least, imo.

I apologize again for seeming to try to probe your mind.

His point still stands though, while katana are primarily two-handed weapons and kendo(kedo? I'm tired and hung over) or whatever teaches all that they COULD still be used one handed. No-dachi on the other hand.. have both incredibly long blades and handles and were NEVER intended for one-handed use by ANYONE.

What might be more interesting is a choice, some command where you can change your grip on your weapon. What all that would entail I'll leave up to people who know the game mechanics better.

In hindsight.. maybe I shouldn't say all this, I love one-handed no-dachi!
