Dear Immortals,

Looking at the latest afterlife thread of punishments, I think it would be benificial to have a help file in the mud discussing triggers. I confess I am guilty of having a butcher and skin trigger when I was leveling since trying to type that out for ever NPC I grinded on would have been heinous. So I guess I am deserving of a level curse too.

Thanks,
Trag

I didn't mind the curse. Just found it odd that I got it for a butcher trigger. I was expecting it for something else.

I agree with this though.

Honestly, some triggers are so harmless.

I mean, I set up a trigger to turn in the quest items on those [REDACTED] quests in Tlaxcala/Outpost, because it takes forever to sit and go "give xxx to yyy" wait from them to say then go "give xxx to yyy" a HUNDRED TIMES.

What if there was a switch on the auto junk command? Something like...

Auto junk/butcher on/off

And you just pick what you want.
And make it automatic only on npcs or something

Those commands are quite the same.

I am also guilty of this on past scout characters. I had a trigger for butcher and skin training as well as a trigger for collecting arrows.

The biggest problem with those kinds of triggers (aside from the fact that the stated rule is that any trigger which sends commands to the mud is illegal) is that you forget to turn them off, and then they affect player interaction.

Say you manage to land a kill on an enemy combatant, and then butcher their corpse. All of a sudden their things are laying out on the ground instead of in something I could grab and run.

Either alias it or just don't do it. There's really no need to have "(202) a steak of a priest" floating around anyway.

I have missed out on looting opponents because of random scouts in the room with a butcher or skin trigger. It is very frustrating.

Hmm. But then, we were pretty much told the "put gold container" trigger is illegal as well. Can you argue that it effects player interaction?

On my scout I have ss and bb both aliased as skin corpse or butcher corpse, which could be inputted just as fast as a trigger even in pvp. But roos is roos.

Hrm, exactly what was her crime? If she was killing enemies and it butchered the corpses wasn't she most likely sitting right there anyhow?

I always butchered player corpses upon their death. Atleast now the loot drops out unlike the past where it went with the corpse.
