Until you can train spells and skills to (mastered), there will always be people willing to spam their stuff to ensure not failing crucial spells at the wrong moments.

Besides, while it doesn't include player interaction, it isn't completely outside of rp scopes to sit somewhere quiet and practice casting a spell until you get to the point where you always succeed at doing it.

Yes. Practice it all you want.

Wearing heavy armor to twink the system while you do it? That's got to be worse RP than turning yourself in naked.

"Let's see! If I wear heavy armor, rendering myself completely unable to cast this spell, I shall SOMEHOW BECOME A MASTER OF IT!!!"

vs.

"Hm, if I turn myself in naked, I won't have to spend a year re-equipping when I get out and my enemies will not be given my armaments(confiscate, kthx)." (I mean, [REDACTED], you're gonna be naked once you turn yourself, why wouldn't you just turn yourself in naked?)

I dunno. Looks like worse RP to me.

Achernar?

I expect to see a lot of sorcs/necros have their spell sets sent back to (good) in everything.

Oooooh. BURN.

Ever seen someone run with extra weights on their feet, or run themselves dead tired before they start practicing free throws? Are they using bad RP too?

Thing is, it -makes sense- that practicing spells while under the duress of wearing heavier armor than you're conditioned for would help you learn more about casting the spell. Well, as much as anything that includes casting spells can make sense, at least.

This is not DragonBall Z. Go away.

Edit : Or Naruto. x.x

And this is different. You're not training your body to do anything. You're training yourself in how to cast a [REDACTED] spell. NOT being able to cast it, should not help in this endeavor.

God damn [REDACTED].

[REDACTED], I'm going to make an elf who befriends all the deep-elves, in an attempt to practice my diplomacy. [REDACTED] off.

Whatever. I think you're just jealous that you never thought about it in the year that you played Ealuriel.

Um. I've done it before. And, I seriously find sitting and spamming anything completely [REDACTED]. If you want to get better at something, I dunno, go [REDACTED] use it? There's a difference between say, spamming "cast xxx" and actually putting the spell to use. Or sitting and spamming sneak, or actually just using it when you need to sneak.

And not like it mattered. Ealuriel won SK with the effing useful spells mastered. You know. The ones you actually use.

I'm with Turon on this.

Without trying to flame you, I'm going to say I think you're just butthurt and want people to suffer as you feel you have suffered.

Spells have somatic components. Making it harder makes you work harder. More effort results in more opportunities to gain insight from your efforts.

Much as fourth attack benefits from aggressive mood and fast weapons.

Ever done tai chi? There's a point to doing it slowly at first.

You're in a soap box on a slippery slope, and that's a dangerous place to be.

I'm sorry, but the amount of word-filtering in your previous posts really suggests otherwise.

Note that I'm not saying "caring" makes you any less elite, or cool. I'm just pointing out that it seems like you do care, if only just a bit.
