It requires a competent player of certain classes in order to stop a necromancer from owning 5+ people easily. There is no other class that REQUIRES skill to stop them. Numbers can stop EVERY other class in the game. That is why necromancers ridiculously own this mud.

I used 10-15 wraiths a) because I was a halfling, and b) because I had access to a wand a newbuilder (I believe mcclosky was the newb who made radi kenga) had created.

Necromancers are still, far and away, the best class in the game. They require very minimal setup if played by a competent player. You are a newbie. Sorry!

Why aren't there more, then? I'm curious.

Speaking of newbies, who gives necromancers advice like setting up two rifts to Teron when sleeping in an Inn? Oh, you do! HAHAHAHA. That's the worst advice and content I've seen in the last 10 years of playing this game.

Let me rephrase what you just said because it makes no sense to me.

'Experienced, skilled players must play certain classes to stop a necromancer. But there is no class that requires skill to stop a necromancer.'

What? Now you're just being silly and contradictory. I think I'm done with this thread.

Perhaps I can be of some assistance, I'm trained in 1337$þ34|<. I think he is using an obscure ancient dialect of it only able to be read when you place your monitor under the light of a full moon. Only then will the message be revealed. Roughly translated, he said:

"The necromancer is the only class requiring a skilled opponent, playing specific classes, to be defeated. Sheer numbers -- in any configuration -- overwhelm any other character class in the game. Since necromancers are the only class capable of generating their own sheer numbers, through undead, it is obvious that the necromancer is predisposed to outshine all other character class options with minimal player effort needed."

I'm not sure about the argument itself, though. My answer to 10+ equipped undead is one scroll of etherealform. Necromancers are always argued about with the assumption that they've had their prep time. It is like listening to the reasons why Batman is best.

You have to be a gigantic newb to think that necros are not far and away the most powerful class in the game. Huge. If you think that is ok because they take 'omg so long' to prepare, you're just a newb. 10-15 minutes to become the obvious games best class = fail.

A solo bard can completely nullify an animate necro with one single action.

And then draw in 28 surrounding NPCs to him, assuming you meant B Augmented Sixth.

It won't draw in the wraiths. And please tell me what area in the game has 28 adjacent NPCs to even one room.

The lag on B Aug is such that it won't have to draw them in, you'll be standing there as fresh meat, ripe for the slaughter.

What's he going to do? Run in and o all bash? *Snicker*

OK there must be some kind of communication lense here. As in you jumping to conclusions because of my post count. Talk about entrenched...

My point was to show that you were exaggerating.

If you take 15 minutes to prepare from naked to raid/PK YOU WILL DIE A LOT. The same as any class. Can you seriously disagree with this?

I agree with you that they are the most powerful class in the game. But for all their strength they have countless weaknesses and hidden preparation time to negate those weaknesses. Your arguments and impression of necromancer strength is flawed because you were a newb-killer, pure and simple, and you abused raise dead wands (how typical). Call it like it is.

It's sort of like fighting a really big dude, if he gets close to you he's going to break your face. So what do you do? Kick him in the freaking knees as hard as you can. That's not overpowered - that's tactics! Game over.

Save your lame the-only-way-I-can-get-anything-changed-is-by-nerfing-through-abuse-and-QQ campaign for somewhere else.
