Yes, first off...

I asked him why he posted under a new name when he made the first post and he said his other was inactive. I asked if it was because he was banned and he said he thought he was only suppose to be banned from playing the game (since that's where the infraction was committed). *shrug*

Oh. Well I was under the impression Dulrik specifically said he's to have nothing to do with the forums or the game. I can't really say much more because I don't really know what was said between the two. I did comment on the rules infraction and punishment because that's fairly clear. I'll leave this forums flaboo for others to figure out.

Do you mean me? I'm Orac. I'm not brown nosing. I'm just trying not to sling mud on MrP, who I have nothing against, by saying stuff like; "See, everyone! All he does is cheat! All he does is break the rules! As soon as Dulrik said he couldn't play or use the forums he did it anyway! He doesn't care who says what! He doesn't care about rules! Or fairplay! Or even Dulriks opinon! He can't be trusted to play fair!"

I don't know what was said between Dulrik and MRP regarding forums use. I don't know if was clear, implied, or what. I don't know. I'm not going to talk about that. It appears to me that Dulrik made it clear, but like I said, I wasn't part of that. So this has less to do with brown nosing Dulrik then it does with giving MRP a fair shake reputation wise. He might not have realized he was gone from the forums, or maybe he did. That's for Dulrik and him to hash out.

If I understand correctly, that's not what she means. It's about the completely ridiculous standards for punishment. You permanently ban MrP from the game and the forums - the latter a choice I can only view as spiteful and unnecessary - for a behavior that had literally no impact on the game. Yet other players plague this game with their game-breaking behavior and rarely receive more than a slap on the wrist. I'm sure everyone's got a different name in mind for that one, but they exist, and there's many of them.

Maybe it's time Dulrik realized that very few people share his ideals on the importance of slower leveling. There's a reason many people do not find this type of cheating to be that offensive - because they understand. Play practically any MMO and you will not find a game that is so mind-numbingly slow and unrewarding in its leveling as SK. You continually reject the thoughts and contributions of players without providing any reasoning, and you then act surprised when players dare use a method to circumvent the entire system. People hate leveling, but most of your players are min-maxers, and will go to great lengths to ensure they're at the top of their game. Take a hint from Blizzard - it's okay to make things easier if they aren't fun to do.

People play this game in spite of its poorly designed leveling schema. A great leveling system is not what will keep a game going, either. As such, abusing the leveling system ultimately has little impact on the game's long-term health. Yes, it deserves punishment, I'm not denying that. However, permanent sitebans should be reserved for players that are actually bringing the game & community down. MrP and Icey are not one of these players. You didn't permaban Mitch. You didn't permaban Thran. There are myriad players that have, without a doubt, made the game and the community far worse places for their presence, yet you repeatedly allowed their return, without stipulation. That's the inconsistency we're talking about. That's why people are outraged.
