Dulrik, what have you decided regarding the changes about animate dead, dispel magic etc as mentioned previously in this thread?

Just that I would look into them when I next had a chance.

Your model doesn't seem to take into account NO pc will buy the armor another PC has sold, so there is no market for it, nor will there ever be. The armor we sold was junk and we just needed coin to get supplies. So what happens is people are running around selling off everything which noone will ever buy but your system says the price will go up when people buy it, but noone ever buys it. It also seems to state that things like food and detections and supplies will go down when there is less of a demand for them, but the same thing happens is people who can run around the world quickly buy the cheapest stuff and it sky rockets the price. The problem with this is that noone will sell their detection stuff because they need it, so the prices just sky rocket.

Sorry D but your idea is alright, but seems flawed in the long run.

I would counter that it's working perfectly. If nobody wants something, then vendors shouldn't be paying you much coin for it. You are lucky they are giving you anything at all. If detection items are as valuable as you make them out to be, then they are quite rightly more expensive now.

Ok George W. Bush, I am so glad the rich can afford to live and the poor can't make a living to make it through.

The people that need to sell things to make money can't make enough with this model. I swear you are a politician at times.

You have a set number of items in the game that are JUNK, they were sold to make money to buy the stuff you needed.

Now the needed items aren't junk so they will NEVER BE SOLD BACK to the vendor.

Junk items will plumet in price, and items people want will continue to climb.

Do you have something to take into account your economy is sorely imbalanced?

Why not try selling different stuff? Find things that nobody is selling? Lots of areas have lots of items that are not being used. I'm sure that its possible to cycle through all the various areas in SK to get a decent profit off of items. I think the main thing is in getting out and exploring for those less often seen items that may not be useful but still will earn money simply for carrying them from point A to point B.

Sorcs have a one up on everyone else for this.

Like I said I was collecting mithril and gettting under 8 gold an item for it.

Sorcs even have little tricks to make the merchants take more.

Food items that are almost 3 gold.

If I had a caster class I was using I could probably find junk, but without that help it's difficult to find things.

What specific things are we talking about here? Locate object? Charmies helping them to carry gear back to the store? Something else?

Again, what are we talking about here? Be more specific, so I can verify whether it's intentional or not.

Again, be specific. Which items? My guess is that people are still blindly spamming 'buy trail mix' when there may be other food in the shop that used to be more expensive but is now, in fact, less expensive.

This isn't a political discussion, or about rich versus poor, it's about the economics of capitalism. Until now, money was pretty easy to come by for just about everyone, which meant it was effectively worthless. Now it MAY actually be worth something, but you are still trying to play the game the way you did in the past. If you do that, it SHOULD be hard for you.

People may start to sell things that are actually usable, just because those things are valuable and will get them more money. I can hope. I am not going to say the system is perfect now. It's definitely not. But I think it's a step up to the next level.

Sorc have gates, charms, locate object, and haste to aid in gatehring goodies.

Seems when a vendor has his hands full haste can be cast for him to take another handful of goods.

Vendors under the old system who could take one item, now take an infinite number of items.
