I think some things are ridiculous. like charming a Priest or Paladin to do something that is considered a Sin in their faith.

I agree with Achernar on this one.

There goes any sort of 1v9 battles against a sorc. Like your pet is going to last against cleave.

Charm person is one of the few spells that actually makes a sorc by herself a little less lol-able. Priests have WoR and necros can build an army of undead to protect themselves. What do sorcs have? Etherealform? Oh wait, necros have that too. >_<

This is a great spell. Please, please, don't wimp it. If it's a problem for PCs, it is so easy to just report any apparent abuse as the victim rather than wimp the entire spell this badly.

Honestly, Achernar, what's the point of a charm that just says/emotes? You can do half of that with ventriloquate.

Jennbo...he means that the only thing the victim can do is that, but the charmer can still order them to do other things.

lawlos. And besides that Jennbo, you have petrify, sleep, summon... even color spray has it's uses. And acid blast is OK.

But yeah, he wasn't talking about disabling NPC attack power.

Ok Heres a question.
Can we charm two players at the same time?
While I had one under the spell, I was trying to charm a second one and
thats what I was getting as a response.

Code:
You start to concentrate.

{ME: 98%{Excellent}{ME: 78%}{MV:100%}{9pm}{zero}{The Common's Bathhouse}
>
You utter the words, 'qpabraw dudasabru'.

{ME: 98%{Excellent}{ME: 75%}{MV:100%}{9pm}{zero}{The Common's Bathhouse}

And nothing was happening.

I can charm someone and put someone to sleep at the same time, that ain't a problem. But I couldn't do this.

That means someone is either already charmed or they were just resisting you.

It should be made clear that theres a reason why it says, "you can't leave your beloved -master-" when you try to leave the room of the person who charmed you, even if they are clearly bringing you to your death. Like someone else already said, if your really scared of getting charmed then stock up on like 25 will and you will be immune to the scrolls and fairly resistant to it being cast on you.

I dont endorse changing charm person.

Get more willpower if you're that concerned.

I wonder if you would support permanently dying if your character dies.

There is nothing such as being immune, and if you hold that view and it is share by the staff, then the spell should be wimped. As has been the case with any other blatant I-win spell with less cast time etc., than less effective spells such as petrify (where you don't necessarily get the eq) or FoD (which death effect can be avoided by a measly amount of MP or by playing a resistant race) - hell, it is even more useful in a group battle where you get a one for one tradeover, until you decide to kill the charmed fellow.

Endo story. If this is the prevalent, or even merely the allowed, interpretation, then the spell should be wimped PK-wise.
