agreed. but it shouldn't be called a prayer. For example.. a "QQ" command.

The three-four times I've taken away prayer privileges went something like this:

Player prays: I'm frustrated about XXX.
Me: In what respect? Tell me more.
Player prays: XXX is a problem because of YYY and ZZZ!
Me: I understand. I'll pass the information along, but there's nothing I can do about it right now. (Or I need more information, or that's just part of the game, or some other answer the player would find unsatisfactory)
Player prays: F**k that! XXX is a problem that must be addressed immediately.
Me: Player, I can understand why you're frustrated and I'd be frustrated in your situation too. I'm sorry I can't do anything to help right now.
Player prays: <<Long whining rant>>
Me: Player, there is nothing more that can be done at this moment. Please stop praying.
Player prays: <<petulant complaint>>

Player then sees on his screen:
Your prayer privileges have been revoked!

That is, no one is going to get prayer revoked for just one stupid prayer...it's mostly for going on and on when there's been a clear sign that a conversation is over. And even then I'd reinstate prayer privileges within 24 hours (usually).

Some people would use the pray command, perhaps infront of an altar or so, to do exactly what you used as an exampe - to get into a faith.
Sometimes it works, if someone is authorised.

I have never heard of an imm complaining (to me anyways) about using OOC tags in a prayer either, if I need OOC attention.

All depends on the situation. Invest, HF, leader, any kind of flagging or deflagging, its usually nice to have the IC prayers. Bugs, planning, questions, and other miscellany that don't have IC place of course should be OOC prayers. I'll respond to anything I can. Sometimes if its just to say I don't know. I've revoked prayer priveleges on one character but reinstated them shortly after.

Heh, I remember I was trying to pray my way into a religion, sending one up like twice an hour, "Give me your blessing my lord!" and an Imm finally started pechoing me, getting me all excited... then he casted "bless" on me and left. -_- Total blue-ballage there. Although apparently investing wasn't in his power, so, can't blame him

If you want to get into a faith with that has no active HF you should first send a PM to an imm telling them of the situation, then use the prayer command to RP your request for becoming a servant of X faith and send the log of your RP to the immstaff so when you are next seen online they can fulfill the request.
