Man it pissed me off that I had to attack someone before I could banish them. and then the code was changed so that I couldn't do that anymore.

If the lawkeepers don't want to have someone in their kingdom then they should be able to banish them. Simple as that. There's no abuse there, just limp-wristed QQing.

I've offered to banish known enemies of countries that are regularly serving sentences with logs and RP and public notices, but it doesn't seem that its really as widespread a "problem" as this topic makes it out to be. Its possible to make the laws more convoluted, but will it make the game more fun? Do we really want to toss people in jail without anything for them to do there? If the jail were several rooms and there were things that you could do while you were there, then this would be fine. If there were a way to pay off crimes, that would be fine as well. Sitting at a keyboard waiting for several hours to go by - not helping SK be more fun. I love the community service (hard labor) idea that I've seen a few times before. Mining or gathering or pushing on a millstone all seem like fun ways to occupy yourself in jail. At least more than sending a carriage return every so often to avoid going to the void. If jail were able to have more options, then by all means, let this aiding and abetting be added. Maybe a person could rid themselves of a banish for loss of one entire status (five levels). I could then agree to letting leaders have non-criminals banished for a hefty price. There's lots of stuff going on with laws that doesn't really make sense. The proposed solution of aiding and abettingg neither adds to that sense nor detracts from the (!)rationality of the legal system in SK. It just makes it more complicated.

I like bounty NPCs.. perhaps if they were limited to only the city though? Not the entire Kingdom.

Jail time absolutely should decrease while offline/jails should be fixed.

I thought bounty NPCs already spawned less in the wilderness. I'd be fine with having no bounty NPCs spawn in wilderness rooms myself. I'd also be fine with a diminished decrease of jail time for being offline. Not straight across, but maybe something like one RL hour for one game hour. I'd also be fine if crimes generally had less of a jail-time penalty than they do currently.

The bounty sort of NPCs that I do REALLY like are the scouts in Ayamao, that yell "deep elf sighted". The idea behind that is great, and could be used other places in other forms.
Movement affected spawning of NPCs in general is a little stupid to me in general.

Bounty NPCs already spawn much less frequently outside cities. I'm not against letting people serve time off-line, but it is a complicated new addition that will take some time to implement. It's not simple.

I agree with Achernar... there should be penalties for "wrong-doing" but this does remain a GAME above all else. The only reason any of us log on is for fun/enjoyment (or at least that should be the reason) and "idle time" just is not fun. Don't make prison a palace but perhaps add something to occupy the RL human's time while their character serves their sentence. Right on!

You need to create a minigame about trading sex, cigarettes, and improvised weapons.

how simple would it be to have a check when a player logs on to see if they are a criminal, and the time difference between their login, and when they had last logged out? the reduction could take place then based on whatever formula is used.
