My favorite character to date only was involved in 2 pkills in his entire lifetime. The only way that I was able to stay away from pk was to let players know that I was absolutely neutral, and if they decided to attack me I would respond by permanently ending that neutrality.

It works!

Wow, I can't even imagine that being possible in this game any more. But maybe I'll try it out.

And enemies aren't really a big deal - Elshare got killed all the time, but it was always something fun, like getting sacrificed by Destrivai and Ji-can't remember-her-name and the crew. Never anything random like this.

Tip :: Do not join a cabal / tribunal if you do not seek to pk.

That's a stupid tip. There's SUPPOSED to be rich, inviting RP behind factions.

It's all drowned in PK/CRS though.

Is my character not supposed to know that equipment gives you power? Since when is that knowledge an OOC thing, Muktar?

It is only OOC if your character is not the type to rob someone. So obviously this is not valid RP for a paladin or something. But a necromancer, like the one that killed jennbo there, is completely legitimate in killing someone for their stuff.

The only real shame to the situation is I guess he didn't RP before or even afterwards >_>;

There are some cabals you could join and remain incognito or even be a known member and still maintain a pacifist role, but for pete's sake don't lead one if you're after being a pacifist. People will hunt you down 'just' for being a leader and its a very IC reason.

I cannot say I've ever liked you nor can I say I ever considered your mental age beyond 15. All I can say is grow up.

There's always hiding out in the HQ. . . .

I had no problem avoiding being hunted when (publicly) leading the Black Hand. Sure, people would (attempt to) kill me on sight if they happened across me, but I've never been aware of anyone actively hunting me. I suppose it's possible that someone was and they just sucked at it (I'm almost always in the inns).

Those arguing that killing for items is like RL are missing the point. For most here for roleplay, the idea is not to replicate real life, but to create an interesting story. Conversationless muggings aren't good theater.

I've played a popular MUD that went too far towards letting people play like real life. The natural result, in a low-law world, was that everybody spends a lot of time hiding from other people. Inns weren't places you relax and converse; they're the equivalent of the Serengeti watering hole for wildlife. It certainly has merits as an exciting video game. But as a gameworld, it's a failure for lack of interaction.

If your character ICly wants something, and he's unethical enough not only to take it by force, but also to kill the wearer, fine. But then it costs the player nothing to leave some spoken lines or emotes at the death site. If instead the motivation is OOC greed, that's killing without roleplay regardless of the character's alignment.
