One thing i positively agree with is the Dulrik should allow OTHERS to code as well, especially since he doesn't have the time to make even minor changes.

Dulrik why don't you make a community that allow others to make changes?

Two reasons.

Trust and ability.

The level of trust needed to allow access to a code base is higher than even being on staff.

The person with that level of trust also needs to have the ability to code properly and inline with Dulrik is already doing.

Not an easy combination to find.

Open source is also about trust.... thats how these things work... beside lets face it, Dulrik doesn't have the amount of time necessary to maintain/develop the MUD.

Concerning Bards, on all of the songs that really matter (DoD is a joke), there is a save for them. All chords, and Songs of Sleep/Silence do have saves. It is just that eventually you will fail the save.

Nyimsk actually raises many good points, and I think nearly all of them require serious thoughts and a good rebuttal before they're rejected.

That said:

8 ) Addition of a gray-elven race of mixed blood, there isn't dark nor light.

Ugh, no! That totally ignores a long-established IC history in SK. The stark, impassable dark/light division is a vital engine for conflict and rp. Why make things mushy? Why retcon a decade of rp?

I'm not. I'm not talking about a player race. I'm talking about a group of elves who left Sylvan and went to Uxmal (we have pyran elves, by the by, already in game) and became dogmatic gray.

We've not had the dogmatic alignment before, now greys can be in fists, and so thusly I think its time we introduced a pyran-elf NPC race with area to SK.

It'd be great for RP and change up some dynamics of the traditional GOOD ELF vs BAD ELF philosophy.

Keep in mind, both elves would hate the new ones equally.

I have to ask, because I am completely confused about what race you're talking about here. It sounds like it could be either:

a> Racially pure elves that have lost their pure alignment.
b> Half-elves

The reason I ask is that you mention the mixed blood, which basically refers to half-elves which are equally "unliked", and I don't think they're restricted in their alignments.
It seems like what you are looking for is some sort of specialty half-elves, or greyed out elves, which is redundant.

???

That aren't pure evil, nor pure good. But between, who have lost all care for the age old conflict and consider both sides to becoming corrupt.

Just tired of seeing the same good v evil concept that is literally dominating the muds areas these days. We need some gray too.
