Should voodoo be changed?

OMG FoD, Cleave, Backstab and Final Strike all involve some sort of risk/cost for the user(you have to at least be IN THE SAME ROOM AS YOUR TARGET), Voodoo doesn't. :o

Slayne obviously got hit by piece of [REDACTED] voodoo if he survived 3. I know i've taken voodoo's that hit me to 16% from 100% as a gm centaur barb with 26 hp trains -and- protection up. I can guarantee you that would have dropped Slayne in 1 shot with plenty of room to spare.

Also Meloncholy how can you compare insta kills that require you to be in the room with your target with instant kills that take place from across the map. Even you obviously think voodoo is overpowered if you needed to add in the clause, "if an individual is abusing a spell," who the hell is goign to judge whats abuse and what isn't. In my opinion there shouldn't be any spells/skills in the game that have potential for abuse. A player should be able to use all his spells/skills as much as he wants its up to the imms to make sure there isn't anything to be abused in the game. It's complete horseshit when people get cursed or have voodoo removed because they are 'abusing' a spell, because unless you make it so the spell can't be abused anymore someone else will just come around and do the exact same thing. All it means is that people get screwed for about 2 weeks until enough people cry to the imms and say its being abused. How about we just make it so there are no spells that can be abused, that way people don't need to deal with the 2 weeks of horseshit before anything is done.

No other "i win' spell or skill has you sit for 5 minutes completely helpless with no resist to gate either.

Yeah, too bad noone voodoos when there are multiple enemies on, unless omg they WANT THEM TO GATE TO THEM.

Anyone who gates to a shaman after they voodooed him is a fool. Everyone knows that the gate is coming, and like Syn said your likely to be walking into a trap. 95% of the time its not even a trap though, its 8 in the morning, theres 15 people online, you have a lvl 38 scout as your only ally, and you get instantly voodooed and see a room with 9 enemies and guards in it. Even if you had a person who could gate they probably aren't going to voodoo you unless they know they can handle any enemies who gate in. Yes, you could argue that its the players fault for not having enough allies online. Personally I just think its hilarious that certain people flat out can't play at certains times of day now. Do you realize that now that the lighties have dolls of benjamin he literally can't log on when he doesn't have allies online? He'll instantly die and lose all his eq. I'm sorry thats just not fair.

I remember my last voodoo as Golg, some moments before his death RP. I ganked Rial's harlie warlock and suddenly 3-4 harlies pop through a gate, only to be wtfpwnt by my law NPCs. :lol:

He shouldn't die to them then repeatedly for them to have a lot of dolls. Seriously, it's his fault, not the 'lighties' as you so incorrectly put it.

If you don't want to be banished everywhere and have dolls of yourself, don't go around starting trouble so much.

There isn't anyone here who doesn't die atleast a few times on every char they have. It takes only one death for them to get a doll of you and then you can kiss you [REDACTED] goodbye.

Seriously, folks. Go cry me an Achernar.

And if someone is out there voodooing off the who list you've had no interaction, associated (even indirectly with), take the log and submit for review. If an individual is abusing a spell, that individual should have it revoked. Only if the population of shaman has suddenly gotten a stick up its behind would I see a reason to change something that's been around since the dawn of time.


I find your lack of ability to spew out effective one-liners to be disturbing.
