Well, I agree that it would be interesting with more self sufficient race/profession combos.

Not to derail the thread but I can't understand why Dulrik made Minotaurs so they are -only- suitable as barbarians?!

Your're not derailing anything, this thread is to bring up issues with every class/race combo that doesn't make sense.

Yeah, with evil and sad songs and lyrics about pain and suffering. It could actually be cool if there were a distinction between good and evil bards just like with paladins/hellions...

It's an RP thing, actually.

Not too keen on that idea myself, as I think it needlessly restricts the social ... versatility? that bards enjoy. That's part of their nature, after all - roguelike, to be channeled as their alignment suits.

That's not to say I wouldn't be interested in seeing religion/class based songs and similar structures. In fact, it would be kind of neat if bard PCs had the ability to create their own songs (in sense of code rather than RP), essentially setting the lyrics of their choosing to a particular song type such as death, healing or whatever.

My helf sorc is barely making it with full int/wis/art and a bunch of armor enchants. I can't imagine it's the worst, but on a re-roll I'd definitely pick a human or a gnome.

I guess it's not too bad, but it sucks when other sorcs around you can hold ethereal, charm person, a couple other "light" concentration spells, and have enough concentration left to gate.

I can't even begin to imagine being able to hold two charms, like I saw one person do.

Put a bullet-shaped helm on the sprite, have the sprite approach maximum velocity in his flight (which is aimed at someone's head). I'd say that qualifies as a lethal headbutt. Hopefully it'd take out the sprite too, but you never know with those hollow-tipped bullet helmets.

At around 9 inches tall I doubt a sprite would exceed like...15 mph flying, you might get a lump on your forehead, assuming you aren't wearing any sort of head protection.

The sprite would probably have more luck curling into a ball wearing heavy armor and just having someone hurl it at the target.
