I only have what I need, but some people might label that as hoarding.

So what?

Containers are stolen by level thieves and everything inside is gone. Month reboots shouldn't be any different.

Jardek:

If having what you need is having half the the eq in the game, then you are hoarding. If it is basically only the stuff that you are wearing, then you are not hoarding.

DA:

Do you remember the bitchfest that happened over containers that took away your goods on deathrot?

Instead of normal lvl thieves that would take the containers would it be possible that they just auto rot instead, therefore using the coding for deathrot containers?

It's another thing for a container to dissapear in 45 mins and lose everything inside and another thing for a container to dissapear in 4 months and lose everything.

There is a slight time difference. :P

Is it possible to code something with deathrot, level thieves, and timers that takes away the container but not all the stuff inside? You log back in and you're holding all your crap?

I'm pretty sure its been looked at. Its not an easy task for Dulrik to code. I think he said so much on the last page.

If someone loses a container from inactivity, how many important items would he have inside that he wouldn't lose from inactivity anyway?

IMO not much effort should be put to that, just remove the container from the player's inventory and be done with it.

You don't leave your pets at home unattended when you go on vacation for weeks on end. A leader should not leave his group unattended.

* Pets get bored. They get into things you don't want. Things break. [Heaven only knows what your members may do. Or maybe they'll do nothing at all - which would be really sad.]
* You may be evicted. [ coup . . . ]
* The pets may be taken away. [Or your members may simply leave.]
* Even if these don't happen, at the very least it's gonna smell like dung when you get back. [Things may just be a complete wreck]

Nuff said.
