I have never EVER played another pacifist...

Yes its pretty much impossible to play a full out pacifist. It is possible to play one as mostly so that only beats people up when its needed. Thats possible!
I never really got to interact with him though. :(

It is possible to play a popular char who never tries to PK, never joins any PK event and never knowingly sends anyone out to PK.

And I can't say I've heard of this particular char but there are many established chars I've never heard of.

When I saw him in the fist, I made a bet with someone that a giant shaman won't last over 2 weeks.

Guess I won, though somehow that doesn't make me the least bit happy.

I've seen others try fist giant shamen and just get tired of it too fast. Its a really tough combo, as awesome as it may seem.
