Please define 'out of combat loot lag' for me. Do you mean 'everything's over, now I can loot' or do you mean 'I'm in the back row not fighting, I can loot at will?' I wish to stop the latter while allowing the former if such a code is implemented.

I think a lag to looting would be good.

Along with disallowing it during combat, or having a much heavier lag while fighting.

It should be pretty easy to implement the "no one in the group can loot without lag regardless of position" if the process of looting checked for group combat status, as does the position command.

Psh, that already happens.

As for the proposed change... this shouldn't happen. As appealing as it is for disallowing the full looting of PCs during combat, it would open up a -ton- of bugs and crap and make combat much less fluid.

For example, would you be able to pick up your disarmed weapon while in combat? What about a weapon from someone else's corpse, and if so, then what's the limit?

Here's what you NEED to do. Remove the lighten load spell from the game entirely. That's the only reason that anyone can pick up an entire corpse during combat. If you remove that spell, then someone can still drag -maybe- one ally or enemies' corpse from the battlefield, but doing so would send their dodge rating down the tubes, as it should. The spell's straight up lame anyways.

If I got disarmed during combat, my number one priority would be picking up the fuggin' sword ASAP. So yeah. As for getting something from an ally's corpse--uh, yeah, I could totally pick up my dead buddy's sword if I was careful. You're forgetting, corpses aren't containers. The thing's just lying there on the ground.

When you get disarmed doesn't it go into your inventory now?

Also if not, perhaps this would be a back-handed buff to disarm and perhaps people would want to use it more for the chance of lagging someone.

This has come up before. I kinda thought that in one of updates in the last year I'd already implemented it so you couldn't loot from a PC corpse while actually in combat, but that must have been something that didn't make the list of changes I had time to make.
