There have been many cases where suicides have been stopped with a simple action or word. The people who actually go through with suicide must suffer for years on end. One can only be strong for so long, right? We're not supermen.

All I can hear is a song that many would say is quite true, it's by Boys II Men, "Goodbye to Yesterday". Anyone who doesn't know it should go find it and listen to it. Make you remember the days of playing with OVT.

I know I've considered the path he took, but the harm it causes everyone around you to me just wasn't worth it. I just pray that he's in a better place and that all those hurt from his actions take it day by day. Time shall eventually heal all wounds, but sadly nothing anyone can do will bring back someone after this.

OVT was cool as hell.. He was one of the people who actually taught me lots
of stuff about the MUD.. PK or EQ he helped a ton.

I -knew- Brady, he was -not- a bad person, he was not a dangerous person, by any means. Sometimes he did have a dark side, but so do all of us when one looks hard enough, he was just never scared to show it, or to hide how he felt about things. He was a very good person, with outstanding ideas, amazing charisma, and a wonderful sense of humor. He's always stood by his friends and always offered his opinions.

I'd appreciate all of you whom didn't know him not to presume that you knew what he was like for things he did or said on a text based game or over an instant messenger, He was a very good person and stronger than most that I know. Brady was someone I looked up to, respected, and more than that befriended. He'll be forever missed.

I'm not trying to denegrate your memory. I'm not trying to say he wasn't amazing IRL. I didn't know him IRL. All I know is this:

1. He was clearly capable of taking human life.
2. He threatened to take mine in several fairly graphic ways. Not my character's, not anything to do with a text-based game, mine.

All I have to go on is the facts, gnome. Don't tell me (or anybody else) that I shouldn't presume to know him based on my experiences with him, because that will start a very circular argument that won't help anybody.

Edit: I removed the rest of my post. I don't think it was inflammatory, but additionally, I don't think this is really the place.

He was amazing IRL, and I agree that a circular argument does not have a place here, I just can't stand to see someone saying that Brady was a bad person, because he was not even if you or any others may have had bad experiences with him. We all have bad experiences with someone, it does not make them a bad or dangerous person. I feel it's imporant that you and everyone else should know that.

I will say it Brady was a threat to no one but himself. End of story. You can't even start to know him from what he has written. What you need attention so bad that you have to bring this crap up a day after his death and in a public forum? You were so threatened that you did not even contact D for breaking the TOS? We are not Doctors so quit trying to analyze what he did or why. We are not God so don't judge him. This thread was started to let his friends that knew him on SK of his death and to remember the good times we have all had here. This is like those assholes who protest at funerals. Please no one walked in his shoes no one had to fight his fights no one lived his life. I will not make excuses for what Brady did I don't agree with it. I hate that he hurt so many in his death. Brady did enrich many lives and he was a good friend to many. He will be missed. One last thing don't even think about blaming his friends this has been a long hard fight for them too. Hind sight is 20/20 and no one could or was expected to watch him 24/7.

I don't want to sound like a heartless bastard but I can bet 90% of you know what he was like in person, making your thoughts and comment equally as bad as someone elses. Most of you have no idea what he was like or really like so please stop with this crap that you do. Only those close to him would know, and only they have the right to say what he was really like.
