It's really not the most fitting place to have an argument like this.

Sure, you may hate suiciders, but have some sympathy and respect please.

My heartfelt sympathies to his friends and family who are going through this terrible ordeal.

I know a few of you and if you want to talk, you know I will sit here and listen (That goes for anyone).

I didn't really know OVT and I'm sure we had our disagreements but it saddens me that he felt this was the only choice he had. Ultimately, SK has lost one of our community and we will all grieve together in our own ways.

For many years, OVT was my favorite person to dislike in this game. His characters were always on my radar of characters to actively persue and destroy, both with pk and rp, and I did so dilegently and gathered great pleasure from it. You could go so far as to say that I actively hated all his characters that he rolled...you'd probably be right.

I never hated him ooc as a person though. Sure, he could be annoying at times, and I often groaned when reading his posts, but I did find myself agreeing with him sometimes and enjoying what he had to say.

Over the years, I realized that I had a begrudging respect for him. He never changed. I could always count on OVT to be OVT and there was a childlike giddyness about him that I found amusing and sometimes even heartwarming. I have to say that not having him around is going to make things duller. I didn't know him in real life or even talk to him ooc past the forums, so I know that probably sounds trite to those that did. My apologies on that, but this is the context in which I knew him. I hate to reduce his entire life to "not having him around will make a game I play duller". I just don't know what else to say though that would make sense. I enjoyed the guy. Whether intentionally or not, he brought happiness to me. He will be missed.

On a side note. Some of you need to take my next sentence to heart. If you can't say something nice, then kindly shut the [REDACTED] up. A person is dead and we can't change that. You don't know what was going through his head or why he did what he did. No one wants to hear you speculate. No one wants to hear you lecture. Your words are meaningless next to the enormity of this situation and a downright insult to humanity in general. If you get hit by a bus tomorrow and someone posts it in the afterlife thread, you wouldn't want anyone talking about how you were stupid for not looking both ways. None of us were there to know if you looked or not. That no longer even matters for you. It is very disrespectful to turn this into a flame thread. You can have your opinion and say it out loud all you want, but there's no need to post it here. Thank you in advance for keeping your irrelevant garbage where it belongs.

An internet forum isn't the best of places to have a discussion about someone's death, but for many of us it's all we have.

I didn't interact much directly with OVT, but I did see a lot of communications involving him, and it's very safe to say that he was a troubled individual. It's also surely no coincidence that his characters title was the "Saint of Suicide" shortly before he took his own life (If indeed that is what happened). It isn't right to say that this game is what caused him or even encouraged him to take his own life, but at the very least it was a medium he expressed himself through. Sadly, in-game is hardly a place to seek help, or expect one to notice that you do.

For those who are left behind: His friends and family, I offer my deepest condolences, but I also hope for this: If you are having problems with depression and/or contemplating suicide, then get help. Find a family member, a friend, anyone who will talk to you, because taking your own life is never worth it, and anyone who cares about you will tell you that. It's very easy to fall into the trap of believing that no one cares about you and that the world would be better off with you dead, but that is simply not true: Suicide is never an option worth pursuing.

This may come off as improper considering it's from an internet forum, but I'm willing to look a bit cliche if it means someone will stop slipping further into depression or suicidal thoughts. I know that in the game we all play, that evil and the "dark side" of people is shown often, but that same place is where it should stop: At the game. Hurting yourself will never help anything.

Ah man, I will never forget back when I played Osirus how he taught me to twink and showed me which uberundead I could use to grief Exile the best. Wish I could remember his character's name back then. Shoot.

He was a good guy, and it's unfortunate that some folks who have already added to this thread are too shallow to look beyond what the SK character was and realize that he was a person just like the rest of us. He was a cool guy to talk to on Yahoo, and it's sad that we won't hear from him again.

So to you folks, I say you are all [REDACTED],.

I can't say I really ever heard from him much after my Osirus days, but being that he was a member of the old guard I played SK with in the golden years I never had anything but respect for him.

Rest in peace dude, I would totally log on with my OOC priest alt and res you if I could.

Mortimor was his character's name back then, if I'm thinking of the same time you are.

I'm stunned. I've always wondered what it would be like if something like this happened, finding out some player I've known for years had gone, or what would happen if I died, and how if at all it would reach this community.

Obviously I'm not a very vocal part of the sk community, but I've been here for about ten years. Early on in that time, I met Falicis, playing Welfin. Everyone pissed and moaned about it, but I thought, haha, if this kid wants to be a vampire, why the hell not? So we went around and beat people up, and got our asses kicked too.. a few characters later we'd both be in harlies, Revin and Iako..

And now, all too late, I find out its the same player as Kemilla, who's been a mentor to my current rogue Tlennan since the beginning, and probably the only person he felt he could trust in the game. After a pk today, I put some stuff aside in a backpack for kemilla when she got out of jail. Then Cannibal sent me the link to all this and I found out.

None of his characters were guilty of being dull, they were always a blast in some way or another, and always quirky. The personality and imagination of the player came through all of it.. I wish desperately I could have known him better as a person.

To all of you Wichitans, you have my deepest condolences and sympathies.

-Tim

That's the one.. We would go hang out in Bolomar's chamber, set mode stun and finger of death ourselves - because it was the only way to get reasonable XP back then. Hours upon hours we're spent there... shooting the [REDACTED] over Yahoo most of the time.

Ah, those were the days. Can we go back to them please?

Dude...this is especially upsetting because we were supposed to see him in the next few weeks
OVT and a few other SK players were going to come see all the Sk people were going to all hang out together in my hometown
R.I.P, if there were any way for me to keep this poor guy living, id do anything, even though I havent met him yet, I guess I wouldent. But I would do anything to meet him like I should have in the next few weeks. I know this hit us all hard, and I feel especially bad for those who knew him personally as a friend. R.I.P OVT, I wish you would have stuck around for a bit more so I could meet you.
