Re. me being a 'freak' about swearing --

Google remove accounts outright when they detect violations of their advertising rules. Trying to get the account re-enabled is an uphill battle that almost never results in a reversal: they're just too big and there are too many real violations for them to spot the accidental ones. The best method of fixing this that both Google and their regular advertisers all agree on is to not get smacked for unsuitable content in the first place.

I'm only strict in the open forums because of the need to ensure we adhere to those rules: ads are not to be associated with content that would bring Google's name into disrepute. So as I've said elsewhere, until someone commits to paying for all the MUD's costs, I'm going to continue protecting one of the very few reliable streams of income that help offset a very meagre part of the costs for this FREE game that we all enjoy.

Having said all that, I'll now go back and add a few asterisks to the relevant words in this thread.

Frollith was a great character, but whenever he spoke, he made me want to shove my fist down his throat.

Verily, if on your behest we speaketh only olde language, a fair number of your goodly population shall be . . .

f*cking irritated.

No!

See Ilky, you have to watch the language in the open forums like this one.

Pirate speak for swearing in this one since it is an open forum

What she really meant to say is she wanted to muck a stall full of manure into his mouth. :)

If thou shalt continueth in thine profanity in open forums, I shalt be eternally dismayed in thine lack of discipline, madame.

I love how Alshain edited OA and Dulrik, but not me or himself.

Tickles, kinda.

Fixed. Just ran out of time this morning, and finished now, was all.

Amazingly enough, back on topic --

There's a guy in the UK (or was) who spent more of his life in jail than out, who was reknown for his hand to hand fighting - regularly taking out riot squad correctional officers left and right whenever they had to try and subdue him. I'll let someone else do the history.

My point though - the legal authority figure in most jails would almost always want to take action against anyone who is acting without fear in jail: it undermines the very nature of jail, not to mention makes the folks running the jail look incompetent, if it becomes a lawless place of entertainment.

If anything, I'd suggest a two-stage approach to jail in SK -

Phase 1 - You're in jail exactly as you are now.
Phase 2 - Anyone gets stunned or killed, you're immediately dragged off to solitary confinement for the remainder of your jail time.

As to how we'd code solitary - I'm guessing one room with a permanent darkness would be sufficient?

What if the room were extra-fizzled for lack of a better term and restricted tells on top of magic? They can see the room, see who's on, they just can't interact with anybody. I like the dark idea, but so many people have infravision it'd be pretty uneven punishment. A lot of people wouldn't be affected by it unless it were dark dark like a certain spell.

I have the best solution for this problem. Remove jail from the game. I think that'd solve the problem, wouldn't it?
