All right, to clarify then, I propose this:

When a sorc is polymorphed, keep their race as is. IE, if a gnome polymorphs into a human, on the wholist, the gnome is still a gnome.

gnome polymorphs into a human.
who Bob yields: [Gno ---] Bob
instead of: [Hum ---] Bob

If you're not in the same room as the gnome when he polymorphs, why should that information be available to you on the who list?

I loved having PAR with Adara (besides the usual reasons) because it didn't matter when I poly'd, my race didn't show.

I agree this is a strange thing to be gossiped through the world enough to show on the who list. Change please?

I'm conflicted. If you're a deep-elf sorc pretending to be a gnome so that you don't get instant killed in the Exile inn, greeting someone would of course give you away. But if you're polymorphed into something odd to try and hide from you enemies (and they happen to be greeted) then they'd know what race you'd be polymorphed into. Sticky situation really.

Yeah, no. That's the thing. When I poly I don't walk around in my symbol and sacred gear. I also change my desc, as any smart sorc would do. You're not going to look anything like yourself.

I think the race being shown on the who list should be the race that you remember them by. When I poly, I change my descriptions entirely, and sometimes even carry different clothing for RP sakes.

Agree with ilky.

If it's odd, as in a non-PC race, there is no change to who list race. It's only PC races that change your race on the who list.

Ah, I see. Well, if PC races do change your name on the who list, and other odd things do not, I don't see any reason to change it.

Poly into a PC race if you want to trick someone you're greeting, poly into something strange to avoid detection from enemies.

Short of polying PC races, polying anything else will 90% of the time be noticed by a veteran player. As the majority of NPC's don't have the cookie cutter appearance of PC's when seen. Example "A vicious male dragon is here." is a dead give away for someone using polymorph.

Rawr. I suppose that instances where you polymorph into a race similar to NPCs in certain areas would be rather limited.
