I don't think the poly'ed Race should be revealed on the who list. I say that's OOC info. Some thoughts?

Edit: Yes. Race. Sorry, I hail from another MUD and it's a little confusing!

I think you mean race.

You can protect your class identity at any time with auto.

I always did find that a little odd that you polymorph and people can see you have done it based on the who list.

For as much as I agree with you that I think it is strange, it kinda fits in with titles being IC. You catch a 'rumor' of someone doing something strange.

Shopkeer A tells Customer B that 'the Regent was just in here and she didn't look quite herself. It was her! I know it was! But...she looked like a human!'

Customer B goes and tells Citizen C and before you know it everyone knows.

I think polymorph should make people immune to laws just like mimic does.

It's really kind of silly that the guards can tell exactly who an old one walking around the streets is, and which crimes he/she commited.

You can say the same about 'disguise', but I don't see that getting changed.

Well disguise is more or less throwing on a fake moustache, and some glasses. You can't change your race or anything with disguise.

With polymorph you literally aren't the same thing anymore. You can go from human to elf to gnome to angel. Seriously, how is anyone going to know who you are?

As far as escaping the law, I'm not sure how I feel about that. Certain cabal skills wouldn't be viewed as anything special if poly could avoid the law.

The way I see it is this:
poly, you're magical, guards see you, sees you've put up a magical front, realizes you're an outlaw.
... maybe.

As far as the who list goes, typing who XYZ and getting [GNO ---] XYZ when you know that XYZ is supposed to be an elf conflicts with a lot of RP that could be taking place. When people see the gnome, they'll just go "zomg i know you are ZYX!"

It's lame, but to avoid it just use non-PC races.

The only reason someone sees your race is if you've already greeted them or are in the same cabal/tribunal. On top of that, if you greet someone, or meet someone whom you've greeted while you're polymorphed, you still don't appear as yourself.

I guess I'm just confused as to what you're asking for. Do you want the who list to be updated every time a sorc you've greeted polymorphs? This seems rather... self-defeating.
