I have not played a necromancer in a long run, I had a couple of them in the past before the changes so I cannot say much. Still I will give my 2 cents.
I don't see why, a well prepared character, who has put hours of effort, running around and preparing in the game, cannot solo kill 1-3 players. It should be the reward for those who prepare, and it should be doable.
For example. Delear prepared for hours and hours before hunting someone, or even walking out of Krychire's inn. He was a tough one to get, and he would definitely kill you and your group if he was after you, or you were after him. Why? Like I said, hours of preparation.
I don't see why this should be tweaked and nerfed to the point where the class would be equal to others. Balance the game, yes; but dont kill entire classes in doing so.
Take a Cleric for example, like Elriorith. Say I want to go hunting someone. Say I get a sorceror and have him prepare for me, mirror images and etherealness scrolls. I then seek a warlock and have him brew me stoneskin and ironguard. Then above all those, I sit hours and hours and enchant my items. Moreover, I brew heal and word of recall vials, as well as sanctuary bless and protection, so that I can have my concentration free and undisturbed.
The above process is already taking me HOURS to complete, and all for what? So that I can be able to stand against 1-3 players and kill them.
Once I am prepared, I set out and find the desired group. By correct combinations, I kill them with harm for example. This should be DOABLE, not only by necros, but by every class and player who is willing to put hours into preparing.
If I did the above, continuously for say, 20 kills you know what would happen? People would cry "NERF HARM! IT HURTS! IT's OVERPOWERED!"
Still though, it's not harm that killed them, it's the preparation. In any other case my Priest would die in 3 rounds.
I hope I got my point through.
