If you can buy it over and over? No. If you want a fire one, pay ten obsidian, buying them over and over, till he randomly gets the fire one. Or make it so you can pick from them.

So your suggestion is each time you buy one, its random?

Not that after completing the quest you randomly are allowed to buy one and thats the only one you can ever buy?

Interesting thought.

Sometimes when you need a new amulet your only option is to wait at the end of the quest and ambush someone who just completed it.

D-A, warlocks get their good spells at mentor and master, and you can't really get mithril till mentor and master either...The problem is GETTING TO mentor and master(and even at the high levels, the other spells seem to suck now, like I said, when was the last time anyone saw or heard about a warlock killing someone who wasn't either naked or wearing utter crap?)...And as far as the bash/throw thing, I don't see how that helps when I'm trying to fireball ten NPCs to death. And, yes, sorcs have it better, they can GM off of their level 1 spell(which is better than any spell warlocks get for leveling). [REDACTED], give warlocks lightning missile at level 1 and have it be the exact same as MM and the problem would be solved. I want to know why warlocks got like singled out for the shit-end of the leveling stick.

Leveling priests sucks too I would think, but I've never even played a priest past level 1, so I can't really comment on that.

And elementals do a lot more than "little" damage, a sprite with a pole-mace is effing little damage.

Excuse the language, this has just made me really mad. >_<

I know what you are getting at, don't pk till you're GM how about that Syndal? It's like whenever you make a new character you start ranting how hard it is to PK someone who's GM while you are MASTER. It says a lot about you. Why not GM first and do the PK later? RP some? Maybe make an independent character?

In Syndal's defense, she is playing her character exactly the way Dulrik prescribes.

"Master characters are complete characters" afterall.

:p

False. Shamans, priests and paladins are perhaps the easiest classes to level, rivaled perhaps by sorceror.

each of these 3 classes have the ability to heal themselves, and then some upsides/downsides depending on circumstance. Priests for example are pretty difficult to level until they get their hands on flamestrike, and from then on it gets easier.

Having leveled a warlock, who has healing and a powerful summonable pet in his disposal, I can say that leveling one is not as difficult as you make it seem to be. just don't depend on your high-tier spells too much during leveling. The mana cost is steep.

Another leveling tip would be, don't do it alone. Get yourself a group and you'll find it's quite easier to level them.

I rhink back in the day, warlocks used to need more xp than any other class to level. I'm not sure if this still is the case, or if it ever was, but even then they were quite easy to bring up.

I also think the Ironguard nerf was un-needed. Although I can understand it from a viewpoint of racial weaknesses. It completely negates a racial weakness for several races in it's old implementation.

Precisely one of the reasons it was so valuable for races like sprites, elves, and drow who are so horribly raped by those weaknesses. I recall hearing an awful lot of griping about deep-elves not being up to par anymore. I would have rather just seen brewed ironguard drastically wimped (perhaps down to how ironguard works now) while keeping the cast + concentrate ironguard how it worked previously.

I don't know which ironguard nerf is being discussed here. It's pretty much what Dalamar is already describing. Power of ironguard is based on the level of the caster, so the potions of ironguards are probably half power while GM ironguard is not nerfed at all.

Now if you are talking about the fact that some magical weapons do half and half damage, that probably hurts warlocks but it wasn't due to changes in ironguard. Also, I gave people more reasons to use iron when we created the cold-iron material, so you could say that was an ironguard buff.
