With the new way magma damages after clinging to skin it seems that anyone with any MP at all completely ignores damage from the continual burn.

I remember seeing somewhere that total damage over the duration has been kept the same, but the damage per 'burn' has been reduced. I'm not sure if it was thought of at the time that because of MP the total damage has actually been reduced drastically to the point that most people aren't taking any damage from it anymore.

If this was intentional then ignore my post.

Magma spray should instead have a 10% chance to auto delete the character when it hits.

Anyway, back on topic.

Dulrik, could you please chime in?

I just want to know if this is the way it is now or if there is a possibility the cling magma might have some more changes made to it in the future

It was originally set up so that magma would have more of a 'lasting' effect, like being able to kill people post PK attempt.

The only problem with this is instead of the MP/buffs working on the initial blast, it also soaks the 'burning' damage away, and with sanc/shield/pro/SA and/or decent MP, you can pretty much laugh at it.

The only way to fix it is to have magma stick damage ignore MP which won't happen.

The way it was before the burning magma at least had a chance to do some damage. Like you said, now with even just a little MP you can soak all the damage from it. Making it pointless that it clings at all.
