On my no kit delf those things can do up to 50% in one hit, when I have max con, and a decent (18) dex they still damage the [REDACTED] out of me. We're talking more than 1/3 still. Though my delf has never had nimbus struck on him, it's rather stupid that even wraith die in one BOG.

BoG is perfectly fine. The problem, IMO, is that the deep-elven race sucks so bad, it's hilarious. The only two classes they're half-decent at is sorc/necro, and a human or gnome would be better as those anyways. The only reason to play a deep-elf IMO is the RP. Every single deep-elf stat sucks, except Intelligence(gnomes are only 1 or 2 points lower, and get 7(that is a lot) more wis). I think they get like 18 wis/str/con maybe 20/21 dex and I'm not sure on the charisma but I think it's around 18 too? 18 wis sucks pretty bad as a caster by the way. Oh wait, on top of their stats sucking horribly they get a bunch of weaknesses too! Oh, yay!

My numbers are probably off, but I'm pretty sure they're close. :/
Can't remember if delves get 23 or 24 int.

The only number you are close at is their int. Otherwise, you are almost completely wrong. They have human cha, just under human str, horrid con. Their dex is alright though. I do agree that their stats needs a serious boost. They are basically elf stats, rearranged - 1, and nothing to compensate for the loss of stats.

24.

But it doesn't do much for you.

Zomg. The ability to concentrate. Gosh. I concentrate SO frickin' HARD that BoG won't disrupt my concentration (psych).

FIX BoG.
TWEAK DELFS.

I HATE THIS.

I don't think BoG should be tweaked. It has a huge drawback as it is, and we all know paladins are only good at fighting certain types of classes and races.

But if for some reason someone decides to do so, like for example lower its damage, then BoG should be changed so that it affects everyone just like hellfire. Although I'm pretty sure the nimbus affect was wimped since it doesn't last all that long.

I agree there is no reason to play a deep-elf barring RP. They may have the highest intelligence out of any of the races, but those two points more from a gnome isn't going to make up for the incredibly low constitution, wisdom and many racial weaknesses. I certainly don't want them to be made the exact same as humans or half-elves, but I would like to see them get a slight boost.

That being said, I do enjoy their RP and even their extreme disadvantages haven't stopped me from playing them.

If I remade my hellion, I would be a deep-elf for purely mechanics purposes.

Hmm. Yes, I wasn't thinking of hellions, I was thinking of sorcs/necros/priests (I'd much rather play a gnome or human for all of these). I can see a deep-elf hellion working rather well, though it would have to be a competent player who would know how to cover for their racials.

I never felt BoG was overpowered on my halfling necro. Sure, delfs took it harder, but they also got enough int to carry an extra control.

That's because not only were you not getting a bonus applied to the damage, your were also reducing it with your racial resistance.
