Is it just me or does no-one ever use this spell unless its cast by a NPC?

If that is so, then it needs a fix, obviously :p

People us it, all the time at low levels and on themselves only.

The concentration cost to hold it for more than one or two people is too much.

:o

I don't know about you guys.
But as a warrior, having the NPC Tribunal Guards holding spells like bless and armor is something I keep on 24/7 when I'm online. The extra saves added to your resists comes in handy and the added weapon accuracy is always handy.

It is group-affecting, but the person casting it then has to hold it individually for each person in the group. It's pretty taxing to hold. =/

What a complete waste of bandwidth.

You fail, and should never post anything close to this innane [REDACTED] ever again.

You meant OVT.

Yes bless is a spell that is useful when cast by NPCs, but when you have to concentrate on it, it sort of becomes useless.

I'm going to suggest that bless becomes a duration buff, costs more mana to cast, affects 1 person, and the bonuses it gives are smaller.

This way priests will actually bless ppl, which to me is a very important part of prestly RP.

I still bless ppl, but when you have to release it after say, 5 minutes to do something else, it gets annoying.

I agree with you Erevan except that it should still be a group affecting and the bonus is small still.

Don't make that mistake again. I nearly lost my breakfast.

On topic.

The bonuses for bless are already small. It would take some very minute inspection of combat logs and will-based spell resist attempts to even find any benefit to bless. Thus, using it for PvP or PvE at high levels is, indeed, almost completely pointless. Especially as a cloth priest, holding a group bless has way, way too much cost for the benefit.

Even at low levels bless is arguably useless. I've leveled quite a few characters with bless, and with a little informal testing for curiosity, hits don't really land all that more frequently with bless than without, and (when the dryads still used sleep spells) I never resisted those any more frequently.

Having a trib NPC hold bless has also not helped me. Why do it at all, you may ask, then? Well, because I can. Maybe, just maybe, all the planets will be in the right alignment, all the stars in the right place, and all the randomly generated numbers will be going in my favor and the (something like) +1 to will that bless gives at any level will save my [REDACTED]. Still waiting for that day.

Erevan, your suggestion to lessen the bonus for bless would likely cause the spell to disappear entirely, even if it still sat on the spell list.
